I had a GSL rear axle with LSD.

A friend of a friend wanted it and we struck a deal where he was to get it, in exchange for him doing an r and r of a rear axle on my RX4. He took the LSD setup but for whatever reason(s) did not fullfil his part of the deal. He did not do any work on the RX4. I had to pay someone else to do the RX4 rear end swap.

I have sent PM's to him requesting that he respond and come up with a mutually acceptable solution but he has not responded. I have also sent him an email but again, he has not responded.

He is a young college student. He no longer has the car (his dad now has it).

I ask you, the members of this forum, what is a reasonable course of action for me to take at this time. I'm asking for constructive comments, not ones that cause harm.

About all I can think of to do is post his name and what happened in the Good Guys / Bad Guys section; but that seems rather tame (lame?).

 

do you know his real name and or phone number???
i would try to figure out a way to contact him threw the phone or in person.... reverse lookup? or what ever

call him or/and find out where he lives and just show up at his door, asking him whats going on?? and calmly and reasonably talk to him about if you guys can work something out or not

like this one time on ebay... the guy dindt send me the item. searched for his full name, found his house and fone number, called the house, but it was his parents,they said he was away at collage,

so i was like ohh then i asked how i can reach him lol i said i was one of his freinds tring to reach him or somthing hahaha..... and then i got his real number. then i talked to him on the phone to try and work it out....

 

i would do something in that manner. or even talk to his dad. since your part is in the car he's got. it's a tough without being able to get ahold of somebody.

 

I know you think the "good guy bad guy section" is tame or mild, but a lot of people read through that section. Its a lounge in itself. I would list the members name.

I wouldnt wait a long time, but would go talk to the father and tell him about his sons agreement with you. Or just let the father know that the part in question is yours and you wish to have it back/money for part. Or if he could talk to his son. Be very polite when you do so, it goes a long way.

Mothers and Fathers are usually pretty understanding.

 

I'd hold off on the Good guy/Bad guy section until you get a chance to talk to the guy. Do a little research and arrange it so that he can't avoid talking to you. Since he's young and probably poor he either doesn't have enough money (or whatever) to pay you, or if he does he'd rather spend it himself, lol.

Get ahold of him and don't challenge or threaten him. Simply tell him in honest and easy terms that you'd like either some money or your part back.

Going to the Dad would be a great idea, because even if they're not rich or happy about taking apart the rear-end of the Rx4, most people have some sense of honor, or don't like to be embarrased by other members of the family.

I would contact both the son and the father since this involves both of them. I wouldn't put priority on reaching either of them first. At least if the Dad knows the son WILL hear about it. If you tell the son, it's still on him to tell the Dad and get the ball rolling.
