Hey all. I may be moving out to EVERETT, WA this summer. I'm in the Navy and I'm wondering if there are any good shops (or close by) to take your 7 to. I'm in Norfolk, VA right now and the roads here REALLY SUCK! how is it out there?

welcome to the west coast. Roads are in various states of terrible patchy-ness, bumpy and there is always traffic with the exception of 10pm - 6am, the roads are liveable but you need to b e good about dodging potholes and the like or expect to bend a wheel.

here is the most comprehensive list of rx shops around.

Well hello everyone, I am kind of new to the area, I just have a year here. (coming from Miami, FL so the traffic is beautiful here compared to that one) But I agree about the holes on the roads.
I bought a 93 FD around 3 months ago and it is a beauty. Plan on having it for the rest of my life.

since notveryhappyjack pointed out the traffic conditions i'll point out some really fun runs. i used to live up in bellingham not to far from everett. about 30mins north from everett is burlington, theres a nice run thats really straight for the first half (it goes trough a farmign community) then the second half is a slight uphill thats smooth and twisty. this road ends in bellingham but u can take it in reverse and run it downhill back towards burlington- chuckanut drive. i have a few buddies that run it at night. then if u exit on alger and get on bow eddison rd theres a REALLY FAST AND TWISTY run that takes u trough some mountian roads. Then a little more north of that is mosquito lake rd. a little bit out in the county and a lot more challenging then the last two because of blind corners ( say ur going up a hill and right at the top is a corner that appears to pop out of no were...lol lots of fun!). this run also has a lot of high speed corners that imediately flow into few low speed consequtive turns kinda like a solom. then the king of the runs in that region would have to be the mt baker hill climb and down hill. ( of crouse i dont think the up hill would be as fun especially if u dont have torque....i didnt...it suxed....i was slow up hill....yeah....) as for shops in the everett area im not to familiar with any in that location. how ever i do have a highly recomended place at bellingham u might want to check out. its a shop called jsport. if u need more information about the area feel free to message/ ask me anytime ^_^

I live in the same general area as the above member. Port Townsend. I work in Bellevue though so my car can be seen pretty much anywhere between the olympic peninsula and the greater seattle area. '90 GXL, currently being prepared for a Turbo swap.

Andy @ Mazdatech is the closest (and probly the most reputable shop in Snohomish county for rotaries) Note: I do not use him so I am not speaking from experience. Otherwise you're driving an hour and a half south at least for a rotary specialist... Not sure aboput rotary experts if you head north...

give me HAIRPINS on hot dry roads

Heres me venting on WA............

I have yet to find a decent challenging road in this state that has the qualities of a touge road and the driveability of a road in that is in decent condition.... aka, dirt or sand on the road, single lane, excessive potholes and uneven places. It seems that when a promising stretch does appear, something or other comes in the way. Its either short lived or RAINING. And it makes my heart cry. Anyone who want to prove me wrong... PLEASE do because if the rain and passive aggressive residents of washington was enough..... the lack of fun, sustained touge style driving will KILL me.... Which may make some WA very happy. LOL

DEAL... thanks guys for the ray of sunshine in my dark and gloomy world

what cities are each located? (other than mercer)

looking at a map of e mercer way, looks to be the obvious windy road on the south east shore of the island.... what is the housing situation like? cross streets? or is is pure road? im worried about cross traffic.... but looks promising!
