well folks.. got my engine running, ran fine for 10 seconds, then Lost Compression somewhere. i fell like giving up.. Anyone have a rebuilt engine? or an Rx7 for sale nearby.? and dang i thought wfrx had a good engine to give me.. what a waste of time

 

ya didn't check the compression before putting it in?
also... are ya sure is compression, and not just a bad connection somewhere cutting like the injectors or spark somewhere... seems kinda *** for all your work and to have it just crap out on ya.

 

Im trying to not go into a breakdown. I did all that work and still cant drive it, I am so out of it right now, I was looking forward to the rx7 meet. and i thought i could pull this off... whats wierd is both rotors were firing for like 10-20 seconds, Ran GREAT and then started running on one rotor, I am sure its compresssion because when i pull the EGI fuse and Listen to it crank It sounds Uneven now, I didnt Drop anything into the Intake and had it covered, Not only that there is Brown **** in the water now, and tons of white smoke from Behind the engine, I am so close to sellin this thing.. I dont have anywhere to Keep it. im screwed

Maybe it rusted inside. and it took the apex seals out. thats all i can guess
I dont know what to do. i am so tired of Workin on it, i guess i am going to have to get a real rebuild. or somthing, Not sure now, well now i got two non workin 13b's, are they worth anything? Now i wont beable to get much for my car now damn it

 

Give it to me, let me show you how to rebuild it. It's much easier than a piston engine when you are aware of a few important details.

well no one is really willing to help. I tryed to get help before but No one really cares, i did it all myself. maybe thats why its fucked.. all i know is the water looks like **** and it runs on one rotor, I pulled the plugs and there is oil on the rear plug. pulses are not even anymore, I was HOPING it was a stuck side seal. i reved it a bit and could not get it to go, also the oil smells burnt too, Thanks wfrx for the Shitty crap. my fault i guess

 

theres a guy parting a s5 on craigslist, i called and he said engine was good, maybe you give him a call and pick up that engine; said it had 140k mi, wanted $400 but you could probably talk him down. just breathe man and sleep on it, you'll feel much better tomorrow.

 

140k is alot 400 is way to much, i payed 200 for my engine that dont even work.. but they said it did.. but owell, Any good REBUILDS that are done that i can buy!!! good engines with no rust inside, and no water inside??

 

Take both engines and make 1 good one with a rebuild. Minimum you can spend on a rebuild is around 400 dollars so long as you reuse side and corner seals (if they're within spec).

It's fairly simple too.

Don't give up, Ive been to HELL and back with my car so I understand your frustration. This last motor was it for me as far as stress level goes. I went from loving my car to hating it, but it all seems to work out in the end. Its a love/hate thing. $200.00 is not much for a motor to guarantee it will work very well.

yeah with the cheap used motors its ussually alot like rolling the dice..... ive been lucky soo far... ill try to look out for a motor for sale.

 

true.. too bad you weren't in spokane. INWR has been very kind, welcoming, and helpful to me. someone came right over to my place to find out I had just timed it wrong.. (stupid chiltons manual) anyhow. yeah keep your head up.
