Thumbs up Track Day at PIR on Sept. 30th

Hey guys,

I plan on doing the Alfa Club track day at PIR on September 30th with my FD. I know that Cartapex, Space Wrangler and some other guys from the Portland area will be going. I think it would be kinda cool if a whole bunch of Mazdas would rain on there parade. The 30th is a Friday which is kinda hard to get off, but it would be worth it.

Here the site: http://www.alfaclub.org/

Hope to see you there

Dude, I'm there. I worked on my peice of **** for a couple hours today. I think it runs worse. I tore the entire thing apart again and re-installed hoping that the expert powers that be were wrong. No...not so much. I hate the sissy power this POS is producing. I am half tempted to find a cheap n/a motor and swapping it before the track day...wanna help moto? lolololol

Sure, or we can just rebuild yours. It sounds like it needs new apex springs and side seal springs, rotor seal springs, rotor seals, and whatever else to be on the safe side. The head on my truck has a crack on the number one piston crown so next Sat. is shot for me. Getting a new head and installing it next weekend. I can help you either next Sunday or the following weekend. Got a proper tool box full of tools? If not I will bring mine.

Hey, you coming down to PIR on the 16th to watch me on my bike? I got some slicks for that day, should be sick.

Going to Bremerton to do an Autocross this Sunday. If anyones in the area drop by. Wonder how much I'm going to get schooled by the viper that's in my class?

If you had all the neccesary parts and did a good job; a good two days. That checking your t's and dotting you i's. Plus I'm a perfectionist and I hate dirty parts. I got two cans of acid dip to clean the rotors too(just need a deep dish pan big enough to put two rotors in). So it would be easier to remove the carbon buildup that's no doubt there. I have done a rebuild, but one of the apex seals broke on that one after 3500, but that was because I didn't do a proper break in, rev'd the **** out of it from day one, strong motor before it broke though. It's up to you what you want to do, just let me know when. We could remove Sunday access the damage, order and rebuild the following weekend. That way I have enough time to fab up an aluminum cool air box for you intake. I can show you where I work and see the look on your face when the angels sing.

But, we need the socket that removes the flywheel nut. I don't have that tool yet. Plus the pilot bearing puller and installer, we need them too.

Mazdaspeed motorsports: http://www.mazdamotorsports.com/weba...0001&langId=-1

Or: http://www.rotaryaviation.com/overhaul_kits.htm - Overhaul kit with everything

Oh, we also need an engine stand, engine puller, etc. Typical engine overhaul stuff.

Read the alfaclub site carefully. You may need to pre-register, usually they take payment at the track as long as you pre-register. If you don't, and everyone else does, you may miss the event due to their size limit. Get ready for a god time! Moto...next year when I have my car up to par..you will not pass me!!!! Buuhhaaaaaaaaaa...buuhhuuaahhhhhhhh!!

Sure, thanks Spyder, it's looking like next Sunday is the tear down. How's you 20B FC build going?

cartapex, lol, let's see how we compare on the 30th before you make that claim.

Pre-register guys, it will save you a headache.

Ha Moto!! Remember the Seaside run? If only I had some power to get out of the corners I'd be ok! You guys should check this site out http://videos.streetfire.net/
It has some pretty cool vids that I have never seen on any other sites. Specifically check out the leaf blower mod..think I might set something like this up for the track day!! How hard would it be to mount an electric blower right to the MAS?!
Spyder..thanks for the offer also..I need to decide if the rebuild is a serious option or not..ie:getting parts and scheduling the time allowed for such a project..My other thought was to find a running 13B and just swap it out. This winter I plan on installing a Cosmo 13B. Should I spend the time and money to rebuild my engine for a cuple of runs? The parts will be around $600-700. Labor well..beer for Spyder..Soda pop for Moto!! Maybe a little herb Moto? lol What do you guys think?

I was on street tires at the time, had a passenger and I don't push it on the street like I do when I'm on the track.

Adrenaline (speed) and endorphins (sex) are my only drugs of choice, but thanks for the offer.

Hey Apex, if we are going to do the rebuild, setup the bed sheet so we can watch the Seaside footage.

The 30th Sypder, that's three weekends from now. So will you be finished in time to come with your 20b FC monster or are you a long ways from making it a trackable car?

I'm pretty sure you can, don't know if they will charge you more at the gate though. You should give them a call.

What diameter? I have a 48 inch section of 2.5 inch, .063 wall T6 Aluminum tubing I could sell you. If you need bends look on ebay, sometimes they're universal kits for sale on there.

Competition Motorsports will have a battery cut switch, 503-281-1579. Located in Portland, near Swan Island where I work.
