Totaled?
Hey Guys,
So my roomate wrecked his 2006 Acura RSX type S and we are trying to determine whether or not it is totaled, so I have a couple of questions.
1. How can we determine ourselves if the car is totaled? The front has significant dmg and the engine may be damaged as well - hard to tell as we have yet to get the hood to pop open.
Reason I ask is if it is we want to swap out the aftermarket parts with stock before the insurance company tows it away. And I don't want to dump money on stock parts, swap em, then have the insurance company say it fixable and waste money on the stock parts.
2. It has yet to be looked at by the insurance company so wondering how long before they come and tow it after inspecting and determining it is totaled or not?
Will post some pictures up after I get off work.

It really depends on how efficient the insurance company functions. I was given 48 hrs to collect anything I needed from my vehicle by Country Companies. Depending on the seed of the collision and whether any engine parts were damaged or if the frame is misaligned it's really not that easy to tell unless you know collision repair. But figure they replace all the front end parts, paint, labor, any damaged engine parts plus labor... Anything close to 70% of the car' value and they'll total it out. The upgrades won't count towards the insurances value of the vehicle until they want to cut you a check for the car. So if you suspect it's gonna be totalled pull all the performance parts asap
