Exclamation is their a thief among us??

well about a month ago I put a thread on here about this red first gen following me home and no one responded. So for the last couple of weeks I have noticed this same first gen driving past my house. I may be paranoid, but if this person(s) wanted to talk to me about my car or somthing why hasn't this person come and talk to me. I have been unemployed for about a month so I am home all day pretty much. And i have only seen the car at night I have tried to see who is driving it so I forget to get a license plate. But the car is a red first gen with blue colored headlights the body is pretty straight and the car is pretty clean from what I can see. I live around the renton area so if anyone knows this person or that person is reading this WTF do you want? And if your are thinking about messing with my car or whatever my pit and I will be ready for ya. I just wanted to warn others on here to keep an eye out for this person.

Thanks for the heads up.... I ALWAYS suspect everyone who drives past my house and looks at my car.... That's why it's on the garage and the door stays closed! Paranoid??? Hell yea! My last car got stolen from THIS house right outta my driveway!

A chick on another forum permanently blinded some meth head who tried stealing her car, shot him with pepper spray filled paintballs, nailed him in the eye.

Hopefully they're just visiting. do they drive by slowly, looking at houses, or do they just pass by, or what? If they drive by slowly, I'd suggest giving the police a call, it doesn't hurt if an officer maybe checked out the car, who knows, maybe they'll have a joint out or something and you can help clean up the streets.

Yea! It makes sense but it really depends on how often he drives by and whether or not he's creeping past the house..... I've had a few of those before when my car was outside and someone practically stopped in front of my house, drove off, and came back about 10 minutes later and stopped. They took off pretty quick when I ran outside. TRUST NO ONE!!

5-6 years ago, a friend stole his friend's car....it's shitty situation. BTW, they both were on this forum. It's hard these days to really thust someone. Driving cool cars like ours ain't helping

My Acura was stolen 10 months after I bought it... Funny thing is there's only one way to get it out of my driveway and only my friends and I knew... Insider?? Possibly... especially since all that was taken was my wheels and stereo... However, there is the possibility it could have just been someone that didn't like me cuz there seems to be a lot of that around here, especially since I got my FD..... It's called JEALOUSY!!!

well I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I doubt this guy lives by me. But I wash my car at the firestation and people walk or drive by and stop just to talk to me about my car. I'll just have to keep my eye out. And if the person steps on my property with the intent of stealing my car i'll shoot him in the knee cap for everyone.

There's nothing like the shock of having your car stolen

I had my 86 stolen out of the parking garage in Phoenix where I worked, I later found out it was my roommate's boyfriend who stole it. There is nothing like the shock I felt walking through the parking garage looking for my car. I tracked the guy's mom down and low and behold I got a phone call the next day from Phoenix PD telling me my car had been found and was at an impound yard. The car had been totally stripped, they couldn't even tell me if the motor was still in it because the door handles had been removed. I went 2 1/2 years without a car it sucked but I did it.

I finally bought my 87 and the night before Labor Day some @#@#$#$ jerk broke my driver door window and stole my subwoofer, amp, center console and Metallica cd case, they missed the three cartons of cigarettes in the storage box behind the seat. I'm still trying to figure out why they took the center console, there was nothing in it. This was done in front of my apartment in Everett, I didn't hear anything and neither did my downstairs neighbors. I am still vacuuming glass out of the car. That day I had an alarm installed and I eventually got a security camera. I have since moved to a safer neighborhood but still, you never know. I found out who broke into my car but of course they disappeared.

In both cases the Phoenix PD & Everett PD didn't even come out. Phoenix took a report over the phone and Everett sent me a form I didn't even bother to fill out. Sometimes it does help to have friends in low places! I get so enraged when stuff like this happens because lowlife jerks can't get off their butts to find real jobs but prefer to steal from those of us who work hard for what we have.

That was becasue they could not trouble shoot the root problem, so they put a kill/cut switch on the fuel pump. But it is a very good anti-theft device. I've gone and installed something like that on my cars.

BTW if you disconnect the MAF or MAP sensor from the ECU the car no start neither. Then hide that **** really good. Oops too much information.

I have TWO functioning alarms AND a breaker for my relocated battery that stays off when the car is parked in the garage... Only downside is the doors won't lock if the breaker is OFF!! So someone still has a chance to take anything out of the car they want.... Garage stay shut at ALL times!

just FYI to you, i used to live in renton adn had my car stolen 4 times from the renton area, i know it was someone who knows a bit about rotaries because i had a few anti theft tricks that were stuff another rx owner would know.

anyway, the moral of the story is:

watch your car, and if you catch someone messing with it hit them a few times for me as well.

If you think someone is following you the easy thing to do is just keep driving.

Would pulling the EGI fuse keep it from starting?

/\ Yep.

I've been followed a few times home. Or they tried. Its a blast watching people try to keep up with you once you notice you're being followed and you start ditching them.

I believe I've had it happen to me a few times. I just get on the freeway and lose them.

I have a CPL and a .357 Sig, and Im a good shot...plus I have a semi-decent alarm (no alarm is any good if they really want your car), and my car is stored in a garage....and Im still paranoid.

Not sure if any of you have this option, but usually I hit the freeway, then hop off near the entrance to a logging road, and just blast away from them. I have my own patented "PAS", or Pothole Avoidance System, makes driving on dirt roads easier. :p Lost someone in a hopped up civic that way more than once.

This reminds me to look into finding a lift kit for the 7...

its amazing how people will spend thousands on car bling and go fast goodies and not spend $200 on a alarm.

No alarm is perfect, but the led and the siren is good enough to scare 99% of thieves. Almost all of these punks don't know how to get past a basic aftermarket alarm installed properly.

plus the being able to sleep at night is enough for me.

Sadly, RX7's are becoming punk ricer cars. Sure, there is a niche cult following of them by diehard rotards or lovers of true *** kicking chassis and suspension, but the majority of RX7 owners are punk kids.

I once saw this show on discovery or something like that, about car alarms, and some crazy ideas people have come up with to deter theifs. Well, one car down in Brazil or somewhere, had an alarm taht, when it is triggered, shoots FLAMES out of the bottom of the doors where the side skirts meet the front fenders. Can't say it's great for your paint job, but a flaming theif will only try it once ;-) Then there's always the ever favorite hollywood, electrocution method, shock them then drop them to the ground unconsious, tie them to a chair, then whip and beat them without mercy untill they sing campsongs in the voice of a little girl. Well, that's my oppinion.
