Suspension question

to start off, I've got a 87 gxl with the factory auto adjust suspension.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what I have to do so that I can convert from the AAS to some plain aftermarket shocks/stuts like KYB or Tokico. the plan for the car is to swap out sway bars, springs and shocks, in other words the racing beat kit.

I just need to know what has to be done in order to swap out the AAS for an aftermarket shock... i need to do the work soon seeing as one of my rear struts is blown.

thanks in advance

Just install your new shocks/struts. There's nothing else to do. The AAS is screwed to a bracket attached to the top of the shocks/struts. It resembles an electric motor and turns a valve inside the AAS shocks/struts. I always have reassembled them so all to parts are there if someone wanted to go back to stock.
