m yopinion is that they won't produce enough power in the long run. make your car over heat, and is a pain in the butt to tune properly. yet thats just my opinion from seeing a friends camden supercharger problem. i'd go the turbo way. cheaper per HP. and you can get more. just do some searches in different topic threads for superchargers. and alway do a search on the places you wqanna buuy from. can help you out alot. good luck

First I think that you need to ask yourself a few question.

1. What kind of hp do you want?
2. what kind of spool response do you want?

Personally I went with a turbo for a few reasons.

1. Cheaper
2. Easier to attain higher hp
3. Changing boost levels is a sinch
4. common setup with FI(tuners have an easier time)
5. look better IMO
6. If something breaks it is cheaper to fix in most cases
7. I got a 2yr warranty on my turbo(turbo only cost me 750)
8. Man companies that sell turbos, only a select few that sell chargers for the 7. More options
9.INTERCOOLER(can be done on certain chargers but not all. Not the kits made for 7's aka camden)
10. boost did not come on so early in the power band and since my car is street driven I could stay out of boost and save gas. Turbos can achieve better spool rates than mine though. I just got a large turbo.

Is that enough resons for you? This is personally why I went turbo. If I ever HAD to go charger I would not go with one that could not be intercooled. I think that this is a major flaw in the design. It is an operating piece of the engine that needs cooling in order to function at it's highest eff. Why would you design something that is half assed. I know that I would sure as hell not.

If you can't fabricate a setup on your own, don't purchase one. The only readily available kits are the Paxton (centrifugal, expect lag and not a lot of power), or the crapden (expect terrible efficiency, imploding chargers, and a whole lot of money wasted for very very little gain). If you can fabricate, locate a twin-screw, otherwise go turbo. You can't beat the peak power, the ease, the wealth of knowledge on the subject on this forum, and ignore the idea that a flat powerband is always ideal, with a little driving it's easy to get used to a turbos powerband, and with a properly sized turbo, lag is almost non-existant.

The only good thing about a supercharger is when, and it will happen, you through a apex seal whats left of it wont exit via the turbines.

Even with that said I still will stick with my turbo.

It's fairly easy to do it yourself if you have the basic tools and simple wrenching abilities. Especially if you have all the right parts. http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/ has a very good write-up on how to do this. If you need help along the way, there are many people on this forum that have done this swap and can help you (such as myself).
