As someone who was a big fan in the early 80s, it was a big relief to finally see them live up to their potential. Last year they were looking real good but the end just reminded me of the hard luck 20+ years ago...or the Trailblazers in the early 90s...or the Mariners in 2001, 2002, 2003... I almost couldn't watch.

Go 'hawks!

Ugh, don't remind me.

I get to hear it all the time.

STILL a Niners fan. STILL say it's about frikken' time, after all the money that's been pumped into them and a good coach.

At least they've finally broken their no superbowl streak since forever.

Niners were my favorite team for years when they had Rice, Young and Owens I still like them but they aren't very good now so I would say they are my second favorite team, behind the 2005 seahawks.

They sure did get lucky all year long!!! The Seahawks had the cover of Sports Illustrated right before the 2003 season. They said this is the best you young team ever, and if we don't dominate football that year then once we learn each other we will be unstoppable. I wish I still had that article. This team was designed and built to play the way they do and it's been obvious watching them play. Undefeated at home 2/4 seasons we have played there. And the other two seasons only had 1 or 2 losses here... People who don’t follow football would say it's luck, but to a sports nut who actually knows the game and all its intricacies knows were an amazing team.

If a team that makes the Superbowl (or World Series or whatever) can be dismissed as lucky, then every great achievement is just luck. Luck that the would-be League MVP was not killed on first down of the first game of the season. Luck their quarterback's throwing arm was not caught in the garbage disposal when someone turned it on by mistake. Luck a meteorite did not take out the city. Sure, we were very lucky. Lucky that the talent was there and had the opportunity to shine. The luckiest team in the NFC. Perhaps the luckiest team in the sport in a couple weeks time. The Steelers were also quite lucky. Apparently, luck is the only thing that matters and I'm fine with that.

That said, I'm not sure I understand the common sports mentality that equates a good team with a good city and good citizens. If "my" team wins, I'm happy for them; not me. They did something great and I was privileged to see it happen. I had no part in it, so why should their victories or defeats refect on me? All I did was hold the couch down and pay the cable bill. Some people think that a good team validates them as good too. That's a mental trick I could never understand. At least the fans that attend games at Seahawks Stadium can claim to have a talent for making noise. Pride in "your" team is nice but living vicariously through them is a bit pathetic. It's hardly better than being a fair-weather fan. Just my $0.02.

They're going to beat the Steelers. Pass rush on Big Ben, no running game up the middle, and don't even think Hines Ward is gonna take over. The only question is how well the Steeler's D is gonna hold Hasselbeck and the boys. I'm guessing Hawks by 3, giving up some lead after their D tires in the 4th.
