How's things going?

There are a bunch of RX-7 people around here. What kind of problems are you having? There is always someone around that can help, just give us some more info on what your problem is and year/model(GS, GSL etc.)

Richard Miller (Pres), BStrange99(VP) and Codeblue2(Sec/Tres) are three of the officers of the local RX-7 club, If you would like to join us for club meetings and such just keep you eyes one this forum and there will be time/place threads. We would love to have you.

 

I want to come home!!!! I'd be more than happy to add a little experience to the equation. I won't be home for a few days though (I'm waiting for the heat to cool from a recent male prostitution ring bust.......lol). Some of the nicest rx-7 people live in our area. codeblue2 and her wife codeblue are a couple of awesome chicks!!!!

 

Ive been having fun driving your car all over town Brian. Heck why use my gas when I can use yours while your out of town.

 

in my eyes there is no "local club" we are just a tight nit group of friends, i mean we havent had a "meet" in months and we thought our "president" died cause noone talked to him for months, but we are all very educated on these cars so hit us up for some tech help, im on the east coast till the 18th so i wont be able to help till then...

 

Ha...I was caught in that as well! Too bad we got caught...

 

well first off, my car timing just got fucked up because i had to remove the distributer and what not to get the stripped bolt out of.. i think i got the timing right using a light i bought at napa. but its still got some weird problems such as:

a major loss in power ..(guesstimate feels like a loss in about 25-40hp)
a weird change in sound at about 3000+ rpms..
smoking
backfiring
idle isn't very steady

(was running good till i screwed that lock nut and stud for the retard/advance. anyways maybe we can get together tomorrow ? let's say 3pm-ish or what not. PM me some phone numbers so i can get in contact with someone here. don't know if it's gs or gsl or whatever.. i know its a 79 mazda 12a stock. lol.. anyways hope to hear from you all soon

I think there are only 2 models in 79 (s and gs) the GS has a rear sway bar and the S dosn't. there are some other differances too, but the sway bar is the easyist one for me to remember at 3AM.

We are talking about having a small meeting sunday (not comfermed yet) we are trying to make sure a couple of the more tech minded guys are going to be there because there are a couple of other cars that need help too.

 

wow mike, given your cars symptoms i with 4 years under my belt say you threw an apex seal
lets pray you didnt, but ive seen many motors go that had the same symptoms yours does (not mine, ive never popped an engine thank god )

 

25 to 40 horsepower is a HUGE loss in an rx7. I'm not ready to go with gregs theory yet. See, the thing you gotta know about greg, is that he's more of the "pretty" type. Not very smart, but damn is he pretty.
