Spokane emissions; What drivetrain to use for project; Bummed the Sonics lost, . . .

What sort of emissions testing is there in Spokane/Spokane Valley/Couer d'Alene? I'm looking at moving out there next year.

I've been pondering my project, and trying to guesstimate the best use of my budget. I have a good FB 12A in the '80, with ? miles on it (transplant). I have an intact -SE drivetrain, with a motor that probably has a blown rear rotor--Rotormotor, send me a PM sometime if you know better what shape it's in. I also have various other goodies that I've accumulated lying around that don't really fit into the turbo theme of the project: a self-rebuilt '79 Nikki, '79 intake manifold, RB filter housing with K&N filter, and a RB streetport exhaust.

Sooo. . .I'm sort've stuck on the fence, trying to decide whether or not to sell off the bad -SE 13B and the good 12A system and use that to help pay for a JDM S5 TII, or to just use the 12A system in the project and focus on getting the -SE interior and suspension transplants done, as well as the bodywork. For now, I have about a grand to spend--at least half of that is going into paint and materials. How much do you think I could get from selling off the miscellaneous parts?

In the back of my mind I have the -SE's 13B nagging me. I get to thinking about rebuilding and possibly turboing it, but I know jack squat about turbos as far as building my own system. It would probably require ditching the stock EFI in favor of a Megasquirt, which makes it a less attractive project for me--I like using what I have available to maximum advantage. I'm pretty confident I could handle a TII swap, as it largely is an electrical problem to solve. The TII might even pass emissions, which would pretty much trump the other options depending on what the Spokane area has testing-wise.

Anyhoo, these are the things I think about when I'm trying to sleep. Post some suggestions if ya feel like.

Thanks,
