Wow, those are great pics. Who took them and if they come again, could you ask them to snap a couple of mine out there?

It was a really fun day. I did much better in the afternoon when I wasn't running for points - of course. Had Des give me some much needed instruction, which gave me 2 seconds off my best time of the am. He still beat me in his civic though.

I miss going out to BSCC... Once things settle down here Steph and I will be going out as often as possible. That may not happen until next year though.

Great pics of the FD Dave, you really nailed the apex cone on that last pic, looks about perfect. Next set of pics I want to see some 3 wheel motion, lol.

Only one problem. Autocross events prohibit drifting...

I gave my camera to my wife and she shot them. Unfortunately, she was limited to the spectator area and isn't real familiar with the camera. Even so, she did well. A lot has to do with how they are edited. Here is an example:

BTW, I really appreciate all the help that you and the other volunteer instructors have given me and the rest of the noobs. Here is a shot of what it is like for an instructor with a new driver.

Maybe you can talk the next Race Director into letting me shoot pictures for my work assignment? I'll get at least one goog shot of every car (in the group that I'm not running in of course), and make it available for the drivers to download.

That is what good photo editing can do; make even the biggest screw-ups look OK. I don't think the FD will do 3 wheels, not with my all season street tires anyway.

That's what Des looked like instructing me too. You can never stop learning in this sport so I take advantage as much as I can. He's probably yelling gas, gas ,gas, at least that's what he was telling me.

Thanks for posting up about the drifting Tim, it's true, no drifting autox. SCCA has drift events. www.scca.org - find the NWR section. I think their next one is the 27th.

David, is your wife ready to drive next time?

Guess who was there BTW, Kevin from Jet City Dyno Tuning - he's doing our Steve Kan tuning days. Was there with a friends Miata; looks like he had fun doing a couple of spins.

i really wanna take the miata out for some autox'ing. Last (and first) time i went it was with my STI and it got me first place in novice class (~50 cars i think)! That car is so rediculously easy to drive though...i would be happy with top twenty in the miata.

I was afraid she wouldn't even enjoy coming out to watch. Fortunately, my associate came out with her new baby to watch her husband drive in his first autocross. He drove the black Mustang GT automatic. So my wife had good company as well as a baby to keep her entertained. She said that she would NEVER want to drive, let alone ride along. She just doesn't like to go fast.

Bring the Miata. You can easily beat me. Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town for the events on the 5th and 6th and will be at a meeting during the SCCA event this Sunday. Lots of opportunities out there for you.
