Sob Story!
Hey Guys,
I am currently in the process of selling my suburban. Unfortunately it broke down last night, and since this car is sucking me dry (going on 5.5k in the last 6 months) I cannot afford to keep it. I think that it is less expensive to own a 3rd gen.! Since it is up for sale I have to get it fixed in order to sell it. No one will buy a broken car. Well wait a minute…they will but not for the price of a fully working one. The problem seems to be in the transmission, diff or transfer case. All fairly big fixes.
Currently I own 4.5 vehicles and since none of them are fully functional I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Rx…blown engine
Dirt bike…cracked crankcase…and I didn’t even do it! The guy that broke it said he would pay for it but will not return my phone calls and is MIA.
Street bike…getting painted will be done this weekend.
So as you can see I need a car and since the suburban is currently for sale I need to fix that in order to get back on the right track. I would just pay for the repairs and hold on to my stuff but school is coming up and that is a minimum of 4k per semester (after the 10k in scholarships that I receive) so I do not want to get stuck financially…
I have posted a couple items on the FS section and would really like to sell them locally. I like to see my parts go to a local people. Plus I hate shipping! So please check them out…and if you need something well we might be able to help each other out.

Don’t worry I am not out of the rotary world yet. And will still participating in the events. I will just have to ride my street bike. When the time comes (the suburban gets fixed and sold) I will then fix the rx. I do not think that the car will be done in time for the BBQ though.
Thanks,
~Z

^^^can't sell it for that cheap. It has procircuit exhaust, pro taper handlebars, bark busters, frame slider, all black graphics with 98 seat & shrowds. The bike has a lot of goodies. I might just dump the 700 into it and sell it for 1300-1500. It was an awesome bike when I had it running and would easily keep up with my buddies brand new cr250. If I get bike newer that 98 I will let you know but as for 200 that is not possible. Just curious why do you want it...do you ride?
Anyone need a JDM front clip for a 3rd gen? I have one of those.

why ive up on the swap? The money is already spent so might as well not take a loss. I understand tight situations so I will understand if you have to sell the front clip, but if can keep it and do the swap still that would be awesome! Hope things turn around for the best for you. I work at a chev dealership so I will keep an eye and ear open on a trans for you.

Thanks for the help...It was the transfer case and I got one for a good deal. This extra 2k was going to be used for the swap and since it needs to be put in the suburban since it is my current daily driver and it is up for sale.
I would like to get the rx up and running on the road and in order to do this I will need to have a more cost effective way. I will take the money that comes from the clip and a portion of that will go into a rebuild. Trust me though I will not do a generic rebuild I will have sometihing for you guys. And I garreentee that my engine will put out more than the previous 125 to the ground.

Zzzzzz things take time, and right when you think youve got it all, something else happens. Its taken us like 4 years to save for all this stuff that we have done to the car. I do wish the best for you though, and whatever you do don't get discouraged. Your an awesome person. Good things happen to good people.

Man I am sorry, you really are in a bad spot at the moment.
This guy is a really a genuinely good guy and I really hope things work out for him, he did me a big favor by selling me some parts I desperately needed quickly, and didnt take advantage of the situation.
He seems like a very trustworthy guy IMO.
I hope you get your stuff straitened out David, maybe something will come up and you wont have to abandon your project which I am sure would have been amazing.
Good Luck!

Hey guys thanks for hte kind words. I will stick with a rotary in the 7 but it will just be the stock 13b. Maybe a little porting. BTW has anyone ever heard of Jeff's Automotive. I talked with a guy, don't think he is on the forum, that used to race them. He said they can build a n/a motor with about 220hp. This is good enough for a weekend driver that gets about 3-5k a year on it. But proting it, and using 13b 4 port sides. Is the correct or is he blowing smoke? He has had good luck with them.

yes ,you would want to use the 4 port irons if your doing a large port.. u cant port the 6 port setup very well... he would probably be using some large ports, id assume like bridge port or somthing. and you could get those hp numbers no problem.
ive never seen his motor work before so i have no clue if hes good at it or not.
but he does race them every weekend and even rents first gen race cars tho so id think he would know what hes doing.

hmmm interesting. I might have to go down and check his shop out. I know for sure that the port was not a bridge or half bridge. The guy that I was talking to claimed that the 220 was made off a street port. Seemed a little high to me though.

yep...that is my street bike I think that my 250 was faster than it though...lol. I just got it back from paint this last friday so I have been trying to get on it every chance I have. mmm...flames gotta love em. I do not think that my FB will be ready by the BBQ so I will probably have to roll up on the bike. That is ok with me though since it is faster than most 7's! Uh oh....I think I may have just cursed myself!

Most of the time I feel that 2 wheels are better than 4. However there are some exceptions. And yes especially when it comes to the AC. For the most part I stay pretty cool on the bike though.
I have heard that he is a hoarder. I am cool with that. It is kind of wierd though. Guess some people are just greedy. He probably has one of the most extensive collections of first gens out there if it is rumored that he has 180.
