Seven Stock X ..... Caravan

Calling all rotor heads!

Due to the interest gathering in our NW community.... Hopefully this thread can be used to organize our 2007 Seven stock caravan...

For anyone not informed yet, SevenStock is arguably the largest Rotary gathering on this Planet... vendors from as far as Asia come and support the Hundreds (thousands?) of rotor heads at the Mazda HQ in Irvine CA. Look here for more details...

http://www.sevenstock.org/

Seven stock is Sept 22... which is a Saturday. Depending on interest and popular demand, the dates for the caravan are not yet set. The drive to Irvine can be anywhere between 20-25 hours depending on speeds and continuity of driving, the best way to do it IMO, is to have 2 drivers to trade off. Plan on spending somewhere in the range of 200- 500 dollars on gas, depending on your car. LA is pretty much a solid 1200 miles, so do the math for your own vehicle. Last year me and fumi made this trip, and we had a BLAST, it was fun, and once in SoCAl, depending of time frame, there are hundreds of world class canyon "touge" style roads for fun. Also, there is an official hotel to register at for special prices that can be found on the SS website....

Plan on leaving no later than Thursday to get to Irvine and have some chill time, then back home sunday or monday.... lets hear any ideas or suggestions... If im unaware of any other efforts to organize a caravan, lets try to combine efforts to have an even larger drive group.

TANDOLLA.... well, what does your car run like now? pretty strong sounds like... My first suggestion would be to get a AAA membership, that way IF anything did happ... you could get towed for cheap! but really, just maintain your car well... and bring lotsa tools.... If we could get someone to join the caravan, with say a wagon or a truck... we could bring spare parts too...say an extra tranny? oil cooler... ect.... and a real jack. That could be for true emergencies....

Double drivers and splitting gas is a great way to go too... makes the trip go faster and cheaper! .......... good idea BOSSCOBRA

namasan.......... sounds good.... i think leaving thursday is good.... we could pick you on the way!

well I got the ok for the time off but I am going to come up about $500 short of being able to go =(

Gas approx $570
Food approx $250
lodging approx $400-500

so I am short some where.

I also added in extra on all sides for emergencies. But I do have 7 qrts of oil ready!!

113 gallons of gas - $370
food - $100
2 nights room - $320
2 oil changes in 1 week - priceless

I think do the trip for around $800, of course not counting any and all unforseen **** happening.

I'm still not sure if I can make this trip, moving out next month and signing up for school are killing my bank account but I will try my hardest to make it happen. maybe I will eat ramen for the next month straight, every meal...
