Hey all . I'm in the early planning stages for a early morning meet (6:30 am ) then a backroad drive to the coast (leave at 7:15 am so there is less traffic ) and back then a afternoon meet back at my friends shop.
Here is what I know for sure
LOCATION - Apex Restoration 12225 Southwest Millikan Way | Beaverton, OR 97005
DRIVE - Backroads to Carlton then to Beaver,then to Sandlake loop,then to Tillamook,then to Miami-Foley rd to hwy 53 Camp 18 on hwy 26 for lunch then back to Apex Restoration to meet up with anybody who didn't want to wake up that early.

Times may change to later but I would like them to stay early to avoid traffic on some of the backroads.

You don't remember all the slow asses going down the hill into Newberg ? Or the ones on Meadowlake dr ? go to sleep earlier or just stay up. As long as I'm in front of you on 53 this time J\K

Haltech is back also. MAybe turn key by Monday? Tune shortly thereafter? Ready for the track day on the 12th! FFFFFFFFFFFFFoch yeah!!! Oh and Derek...LOTS of traffic!!! Slow slow slow...the back road when we all past the same guy a couple of times..not so bad!

[crunched most of the pass. runner and dented the bottom of the pass qtr panel - door can't open..]
and seems the impact killed another f-ing drive shaft... [auto shafts are rare...]

..and marc hasn't told me when we can even pull the engine for the GXL yet
i'm sol atm...

and i probably spent half of the last hour and a half crying..

Hey sorry didn't get back to you last night-wifey complaing that she's miserable being preggers (I got 8 more months of this **** ?!?). I'll try to give you a shout tonight

 

I still dont remember much traffic...
though I do remember doing 90 on a couple of the straights and about 70 through corners everyone else was over 80 in... :P

 

OK Heres the skinny
DRIVE - We will be leaving at 7:00 am and taking back roads from Beaverton to Newberg to Carlton to Beaver to Sandlake loop to Tillamook to Miami-Foley rd to Hwy 53 to Camp 18 on Hwy 26 back to Beaverton for a BBQ at Apex Restoration
STOPS ALONG THE DRIVE - We'll do pit stops in Carlton ,Beaver (good gas stop) ,Cape Lookout state park ,Tillamook Safeway (can't remember which gas station it is right by there) and Camp 18.
BBQ - I'm thinking right around 3pm at Apex Restoration which it will be B.Y.O.B. watch some in car footage of the drive,B.S. and look at each others cars and stuff.

I'm posting this on most of the Mazda forums I can think of and would love to see you all for the drive but I know it's a early one so at least come on out for the BBQ .l

 

Well as long as you're behind me this time on Hwy 53. I want to see how much better it handles with the new swaybars

Well, as long as my room mate (co-driver) can get the day off, I'll be there, in a Ford Taurus, but I take what I can get. But on the plus side, I'll be shooting some video, well, a LOT of video so everyone make sure your cars are all prettyfull. But in the case that my room mate can't make it, anybody objest to me riding along to get some video?

 

Man that sucks, the two fastest guys of the last one are down and out. I may ride my bike that day or just keep working on my car until the corksport event.

 

Man sorry folks but due to the lack of people who wanted to show up I'm going to call the drive off but I AM GOING TO CORKSPORT. Anybody in the Portland Metro area want to meet and drive up there ?
