Smile RPNW Beacon Rock Drive This Weekend

The annual RPNW Beacon Rock Drive is here again! For anyone looking for a fun half day of some great twisty roads, this drive is for you!

This event is a free drive for RPNW members, and $5 for non-members.

There is a change to the route this year. Instead of meeting at the shell station in La Center, we will be meeting at the 76 Station off the new BATTLE GROUND exit. ( I found some fun new roads north of there that meet up with the other route pretty quick. )

Everyone try and make it by 9:45 AM to get everyone together, and we will be heading out at 10 O'clock. Lunch will be at the same place as last year, which I don't remember exactly where that was.

Print out the route just in case some of you get behind or I take a wrong turn again. (Doesn't reflect starting from the battle ground exit )

Please reply to this so I can get a head count if you are planning on making it.

~matt

I think all of us are confused why there's a $5 fee for this. Because in my mind i'm thinking of driving on public road. unless that $5 goes toward closing that section of twistie for us?!?!

Think of it as a 24hr membership fee. So stop being cheap and help support a really cool club.

A 24hr memebership is required for you to be covered by our insurance. If an accident occurs and property is damaged while a club is driving together, not only can the driver be sued, but so can the club. To participate you must have a membership, even if it is only a temporary one.

Because a lot of people could not make it this weekend and because of the shot notice ( my bad ), we will be moving this event to Saturday the 14th. Sorry about the confusion.

See you all Saturday the 14th!

I will probably still do the first part of the run this weekend to get the route nailed down if anyone is interested.

As stated at the last RPNW meeting last Wednesday, I will be there. Just got the new engine in my car, so still debating if we will be taking my SE or the GTU.

For those who haven't done the drive, it's worth it. Fun route... just this year, let's not go down that long road with the fallen trees. hahahah, you know what I'm talking about Derek. :p

>_< I was waiting on Matt [Xenocide] to post a complete version, but since he still hasn't sent us the version with the new starting point..

Here's the map for most of the route: http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=htt...6BjOpTZh0cFRlA [This was the exact route from last year]

Last year we started at the Shell station in La Center right off the freeway, this year.... Somewhere off the Battleground exit.

TIME: 9:40 AM

Exit 11 ( 1st pic is on i5 heading north )

Then bear right ( don't go to the rest area )

Take the 1st Right onto 219th ( 502 )

Turn Left at the 1st signal and the 76 ( z-mart ) will be right there.

Updated google map of route: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en...c892801ec987de

Make sure you are all fueled up are ready to go. Gas at 76 is $3.29 Premium or $3.09 Regular.

Also, bring a radio if you have one.

See you all tomorrow!
