Saturday Rotards

Is the Purple Pounder the wide-body that you just got from the far north?

Rumor has it that you went to within a hundred miles of the arctic circle or the north pole; which was it?

See you this weekend. Don't forget to bring a folding chair if you want to sit at the BBQ.

Thanks to Kevin, the BBQ is like new again and ready to burn some beef.

I'm going to bring Hamburger, buns, and a good attitude.

You guys bring an appetite, something to drink, and any other goodies to share.

I want to show up for both days, but it's almost a 70 mile drive for me. Anyone local willing to let me crash at their place with my 7 for the night on Saturday?

I'm going to try and make it. I'm having some carb issues once again. (don't worry RW-7 I still plan on getting one of your carbs modded for blow through moneys tight at the moment) I pulled a carb out of an 81 rebuilt it and striped it myself. I got it running throttle jammed about 3 miles down the road. got that fixed now it won't start unless I pour gas down the carb or compression start. once it's started it will stay running but idles around 3000 rpm. I think I've got the idle covered, but the no start issues are pissing me off.

when the car is off no gas squirts when you pump the throttle. runs fine once started except the high idle. I put all the jets in exactly how I took them out. I did not remove emulation tubes.

RW-7 If i can make it down can you help me figure it out. I'll do the work I just need some direction. and like I said I still plan on getting one of your carbs. I just needed another asap.

Jinxed,

I'm sure that Robert can help you with the carb; however this weekend is about relaxing, talking, and socializing. Giving direction and advice is no problem.

To all,

We won't be doing any "work like" wrenching or tuning. Not so much because be don't want to but because we have a tenuous relationship with our neighbors and have given our word that we won't be doing work there. The new shop has no similar restrictions.

The infamous, Steve Gambone, may make a guest appearance and bring his colorful 76 rotard hazbromobile.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all again and also to meeting those of you who didn't make it to the first rotards meeting last April.

Bring a side dish if you have 'em. If any one wants a vegi burger, just let me know and I'll "dig something up" for you.

Kevin and Robert will be burning the burgers and I'll be scaring the guests.

So get here if you can and have good fun.

Start time is noon.

I swapped back to my old carb using some parts off the new carb to get it running right (still runs like crap I have the mix screw out like 3 1/2 turns just to idle). i had my shutter valve capped and it got stuck shut uncapped it now its working sort of. problems galore. my car hates me actually it hates my gf because it always breaks down when we're doing her stuff. I don't want to cause any issue for you guys with your neighbors (trust me I know about bitchy neighbors) maybe barney10mm will let me work on it after the meet at his place??? how bout it buddy? I really need a day of relaxing but when my cars acting up it gives me nightmares and keeps me up at night. It actually caught fire last night. not sure why. it was the vac hose for my cruse control that went up. I pulled it out quick and luckily only 2 wires where burnt. no fires today.

I've been looking forward to the meet. hopefully my car makes it. I'm half way done with emissions removal but its running. just need to make the block off plate and remove the smog pump. anyone want to help after the meet???

daily driving a neglected (by PO) FB full of surprises. I have to leave a half hour early for every thing just to make up for break down time.

I'm having to work today and have my neise's 1 year b-day part at 1pm. Tomorrow's not happening either as my dad's father's day get-together is most of the afternoon.
Oh well, family is more important anyways.

I will be ready for the next meet... but, the "Hot Hershey" RX7 with look a WEEEEEE bit different

well made it home. still running like poo. I've got a massive headache from fumes and excessive noise. I'm probably not going to make it back tomorrow. Its kinda embarrassing driving it right now. you should of seen the looks non rotards where giving me as I was passing them on the way home. Also since we were working on the carb somehow my top end is gone. butt dyno says its not pulling as hard. I think I may have found the problem with the other carb. 1st the gasket between the bottom and middle of the carb is upside down and the linkage isn't pumping the Accel Pump. so I'm going to put the middle and top section on my lower and put the gasket on right. I'll keep ya'll posted. steal from pete to pay paul.

Thanks bob for hosting this once again. Thanks Rob and Chris for taking a look at my car. Hopfully I get it figured out tomarrow. I know the floats were good in the other carb, and Hopfully removing the rest of the emmitions gets the seven back to running good.

Wish I could have made it. Looks like the new place is better suited for loud cars

Not sure what the yellow rx(?) is but that picture of the engine bay with the confused look explains it

Or you could just save your money and have me rebuild your carb. That way you can have it tuned nicely and won't have to keep fiddling with it.
