Can someone file a lawsuit for verbal harassment if you've never harassed the individual personally, like face to face? In this case the person would talk about the individual to other friends, in other words gossiping.

Does anyone know about this for a fact?

^^ What he said, learned about this last semester its definitely slander when something is said about another person thats not true without the presents of that person. Can also recover damages for mental and emotional anguish aswell, especially if the person see's some sort of Psychiatrist and verifies the emotional stress, your fucked!! Goodluck man....

Its over my past girlfriend shes taking to heart about what I've said about her to friends of mine. It's all true information about our relationship, basically the process or what it was like. It's nothing horrible, but she gets too emotional. I guess she got wind about it. She even sent me an email saying that i should stop refering her to others as my EX.

 

Not to be mean, but I am glad I can't relate to this one. She seems to be a bit "clingy". Hope it all turns out okay in the end, and you don't get in trouble when she starts snooping around on this forum (uneasy laughter).

In order to sue she would have to demonstrate damages, like in it hurt her financaly. It made her lose her job, or she got kicked out of her apartment, or prevented her from getting a job. All the rest is just petty normal life issues. On the other hand if you are stalking her or threatining her and she is afraid for her saftey real or imagined your in trouble. Assault = saying your going to kick my *** / Battery = actually kicking my ***.

Dude, there are alot of fish in the sea, let her go and don't waste your time.

 

Yah, i don't know much about law, or about relationships but i know one thing, get away from that crazy bitch. My ex still holds onto the hope that i'll come around one day and want to get back with her again. girls......
