professional or "diys"

I ordered a Visracing carbon fiber hood. that "requires" hoodpins. They highly recommend having a professional installation done, does anyone know of shops on the island(whidbey island) capible of doing a better install then I can my self, keep in mind that I am trained in compossite repair for naval aircraft. So I have experiance in fiberglass repair and have had previous experiance doing carbon compossites. my biggest worry is proper placement of the hood pins, Any advice from people who have done this before is accepted. And also I haven't ordered the pins yet, what are the best options, I've seen some that are locking and others that arnt any reviews on the type of pins to use is apreciated as well.

I had to have hood pins on my previous car due to a aftermarket hood. it was pretty easy. I mounted them where the rubber bumpers were for the stock hood. did a couple measurements and walla. I like the recessed locking hood pins. they look clean.

Don't drill straight through the hood.... Due to the arc it travels, the hole in the underside skin will be slightly off from where the hole in the top needs to be. Use nail polish on the pin to transfer the marks to the hood after securing them, you can't miss.

We mark it the same way, makes it super easy.
Taping first will make the marks stick better, &
give you a cleaner hole. You should just ask one
of us to give you a hand, I think most of us have
done it alteast once?

I have Moroso Quick Release hood pins in my VIS Hood:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000COU1WQ

afgmoto1978 installed them - if you already work with composites I wouldn't expect it to be too difficult for you.

It took us about an hour to do it.

They are installed behind the headlights as seen here:
