Seven Is Coming

Summer project, probably keeping my truck mobile, and possibly tinkering with the stolen 7. It occured to me the other day that I could get a hell of a car going for about the same amount as the used motorcyle I was thinking about saving up for, and Id much rather have my 7 on the road again than another sport bike.

1st part done. Replaced all the fence in my back yard.
Second part, replacing my interior in my Fairlane.
I promised the wife I wouldn't fiddle too much with the RX7. I promised that I will not 'restore' it or turn it into another 'project'. I pomised her I would get rid of it once I got done with grad school.
I lie a lot. I will keep part of the promise and not do anything major to the car until after I graduate. That is two years from now so the car will just have to putter around like it is.
I still hate it when I park the thing and the women I see go, 'Oh, how cute.'
I don't drive 'cute' cars.

Hey I was into the whole R/C thing so I can respect the interest. Jack just let me tell you though it is a waste of money! For all those at the tech day got to see my R/C cars you know that they are fast. But for 2k invested they better be. My advice is work on you real car. plus chick don't dig R/C cars! Hey if you do get it done though I would be interested in seeing it. And if I still have mine I would be willing to race you down at the local track. Good luck.

That being said, my summer project/s is getting so long I feel like shooting myself! How can I be burnt out in the SUMMER when it's only been the summer for a little over a week now? I need a vacation...

Summer projects: Fix up the GXL/TII (install rear shocks, restab the CAS and fix the timing, either get a tii hood or mount another kind of intercooler, and then convert to standalone via megasquirt... once the 2nd gen cas ignition timing thing gets figured out.. its close but not quite yet), and redo the hoses on the GSL and try to get it to stop smelling like coolant :p
How much of this will I get done? probably all but the megasquirt

My summer project involves a jar of pickled beets, a spider monkey, two quarts of hydrogen peroxide, a 20 inch bicycle inner tube, and a cocktail fork. Oh yeah, and codeblue.

I'm going to be putting a new engine in my 86 Pup. going from a 2.3 to a tricked out 2.6.
fully ported intake and exhust with over sized valves, blockhas been decked .090 to get the comperssuer up, custum intake with a carb from a 1st gen, custum headers, just the little ****. Been putting this motor together for a most long time now, well the Pup started running poorly and each time I get on it it blows out the dip stick and the oil just pors on to the exhust. Thats OK, Got my class B motor home as a back up driver (Road Treck)

I think I'm going to change my IC piping a bit on my FD. Maybe get a catback for the Rx-8.
After that, I've been thinking about turning the boost upto 13lbs and seeing if I can't run a 12.0@120ish in the FD. My previous best was a 12.6@117mph the first and only time I've taken it to the track this year. What was realy dissapointing was that on the last run of the day, was that I missed 4th gear. At the 1/8 mile I was allready .2 faster, and 2mph faster than my 12.6 run. I'm guessing it would have ran a 12.3-12.4@119-120.

For my summer project i'm going to take over the world. However i'll be working on some smaller scale things first like pulling the motor (Starting today) and killing every vaccume leak and checking every plate on that bastard and re-assembling it with a clean/rebuilt tranney and hopefully bumble arround with re-carpeting my interior. Fools errand I know.
