I want to go, but not sure if I can race, whats the rules on cracked windshield, and a small oil leak. I'm not leaving stains in my parking spot but the bottom of my oil pan is covered in oil. Also I'm really loud. Also how much does registration cost, and do I have to pay when I register, or can I pay the day of.

Increasing spring rate, raising car 1/4", re-installing Widefoot Bronze Bushings.

Should be ready by Sunday.

BTW, anyone thinking of installing a TriPoint bar, ask about how much trouble it is first.
The FD wasn't really designed with a 3 piece bar in mind.

Probably easy to setup for the track, a bit of work for autox, as a bumpy course causes collisions between tie rods and sway bar arms without taking some pains to avoid it.

I'll be in there in the FB of course. Got a co-driver coming down from Ft. Lewis for his first event in years.

jinxed,
cracked windshield is OK as long as it's not in driver's line-of-sight or really bad (spider webbing). Oil leak is ok as long as there's no dripping (wipe the pan before you show up). Loud doesn't matter, the sound limit is 90db but measured from far away. My car is 110db at idle and I pass. Registration is $40 and you have to pre-register and pay as it's always sold out.

increasing rates AND raising the car? whats that about?
also i was thinking about your gear/lag sitution- you might try left foot braking, so you can brake boost. with both feet on both pedals you can spool the turbo without actually accelerating anywhere (mid corner)

That's works as long as the surge in power from the turbo is controlable. More tire would answer that problem to a point.

One of these days let's trade car's for an event and you will see.

That's about 2 things:

1. bottoming out on the front
2. keeping sway bar and tie rods apart

I've considered that.

Like Adam said, maybe more tire.
315's in the back next year.

I'm also putting 4.44 gears in the diff, though I won't have them for this weekend.
(stock is 4.09 or 4.10)

what wheels are you planning on running for the 315's?
i'm also going to 315's on a 17" wheel in the near future (after my curretn rears cord)

I was hoping for enkei RFP1 18x10.5, but that only comes in +15 offset.
Enkei 18x10 is a +38, but I don't think that's enough wheel for a 315, even if it is a Kumho V710

Frankly, I not too anxious to try it in race conditions.

It has to be a reflex, and I would need to start practicing that in the daily driver first.

do those even fit in your fenders?
the easier option (the one i'm going with) is 17x10.5 with 315/35/17 in back. its the same diameter as a 305/30/18, and its a tiny wider and $100 cheaper. still rockin 285/30/18 up front.
not sure if you can find a cheap wheel for that tho

That may be a good idea.

Yes, 315/30/18 tires will fit - Erik Strelnieks runs that size under stock fenders.
The 305 may be a better idea though due to it being shorter.
Something to ponder this winter.
