PARC Drift March 11th

I just got back from helping clean up all the flood damage at PARC along with LokiMotorsports and a few other fellow drifters, the track was a wreck but it's getting better. The damage will be fixed by March 11th and we (drifters and autox guys) will have first shot at it.

ALSO, BIG NEWS. The new PARC will be more beginner friendly. They are adding asphalt in some key areas to help keep people from dirt dropping so much and hopefully allowing us to gain and hold more speed. I'm 50/50 on it because it will kill the more technical aspect but more speed is always nice.

Also, the huge tree in the middle of the back section is gone along with some other ones thanks to God's wrath. This is now also more beginner friendly but honestly I'll miss them. There's nothing like aiming at a big *** tree and trusting your skill set enough to know your not gonna nail it.

Another new thing, sadly, is the requirement of a PARC membership/license. This is because the county butted their noses in and said we all need to be registered or else....

Chris, the owner, is only charging $40 though for a year membership. That money goes straight back into the upkeep of the track and the cost of the additions. Which is actually a great thing. The more money we bring in the more he'll continue to develope the track for cars instead of karts, since the kart guys really don't complain about the the track layout.

BTW, writing autox in the original post wasn't a mistake. You don't have to drift to come run the track, you can grip drive it the whole time if that's your thing. There a few guys that do it, that or just run the track and slide out of the corners. Basically, if you can keep it on the track in a safe manor you can run.

More track time, cheaper gate fees, more beginner friendly, and easier tech requirements than a comparable track like pgp... if that doesn't motivate people to make the drive its w/e.

I thought PGP was really cheap, beginner friendly, and really easy on the tech requirements, but then I have only been there for lap days and not drift days.

I'm not talking down pgp at all, never been so i really can't, but I've looked into it a lot. Its very minimal differences but to some people who want to give drifting on track a shot those minimal differences make it easier imo. Those differences are what made me check it out and actually want to get on track experience.

PARC is in Canby, Or. PARC stands for Pat's Acres racing Complex. You can Google that for directions, it's only a few miles off a I5 exit. They have a huge gokart and shifter kart following so that's most likely what you'll see first.

Aside from the cold rain and snow, that was pretty fun!
I took my Wife's friends son who is 16. He enjoyed it also.

We saw a few Rx-7's there. I think one or two of them still had rotary engines in them.

Sounds like PIR is having another drifting event next weekend.
