Novice Autocross School 2/28
Fun day overall, although I probably choked everyone with my turbo smoke. And it turns out the motor didn't blow or anything on my last run, the MAP sensor hose just came off. I have developed a baseball sized bruise on my left leg from my car lol.
Your car looked fairly slippery, but you were haulin' through the straight section before the turnaround.

Define slippery. When I was "jerky" that could have "looked" slippery. Pretty much flatfooted from the triple gate to turn around. Nice when you have zero power at low RPM and the wide rubber.
I had the problem of marshmallow tires and turbo lag, which made for quite a show for anyone who stayed around for the volunteer fun runs.
It was a nice event. Thank you Michelle and to the other instructors for teaching me the basics of autocross. Now i have to replace front wheel bearings since the one who inspect my car said its getting bad and remove my DTSS.
How many cones did you destroy? Or were you just 'jerky' and slow? Did you actually get to 'race'? I mean, Go as fast as you could through the course? How were the instructors? Did anyone fail the Tech? Sounds like it was fun!

Your *** is mine. In a Top Gun beach volleyball non homosexual kind of way.
I thought the instructors were great - but then I was one. No one failed tech. Over half the students had never been to an autocross event before. the rest had only done a couple. No one had more than 8 events under their belt. We ran timing but we did no scoring because it's a school and we were focusing on learning and teaching rather than who had the fastest time.**
Rawrx8 did great as did galaxy convoy. Everyone needs to work on looking ahead and turning early regardless if its the first time or the 5000th
**If folks go a little slower and smoother when they are first learning it will pay off tremendously by the end of the season as you'll be smooth and faster - you have to sacrifice a little bit of the speed at the beginning though.
Adrian - you might want to look out for Brad this season - are you in the same class?
