thanks for the reply. The thing is I just got approved for a car loan, and Im still deciding between the 87-92 Supra vs. Second gen Rx7 vs. 93-95 MR2's. I just want a reliable, fun, not really high cost maintenance, and fast car. What do you suggest?

I would suggest RX_7..... but i'm partial like that......
if you get a good nice one it would be like getting any nice car. will last awhile with the right care. if you get a bad one, well, who knows. just like any car. figure out wich one you like best and find a good one. i'm sure if you came out to our izzy's meet the second monday of the month someone would have no problem taking you for a ride.

Get an S5 T II. Close to stock so reliability is reasonable.

if you want reliable, buy a new mazda 3.

Buying a 15 year old sports car is just purchasing a money pit... we all know because we are all there.

If you do choose to buy old, rx7's have the advantage over both the toyota's because there are a ton of used parts available cheap (relatively).

ya pays your money and ya takes your chances! good luck.

I would have to disagree with the above post, my 21 year old 85 FB has been daily driven for the two years I have owned it and I have put 15,xxx miles on it since buying it in 2004 for a total of 500$....I have had a few issues a. oil pan gasket that I choose to replace b. trailing ignitor that burned out c. front/rear brakes.

Those are the only things on my car that have broken/need replaced since I have onwned it, I take good care of my car and upgrade it along the way so that helps but you should speak for youre self when you throw a blanket over all rx7 as unreliable and a money pit.

Be smart about the car youre purchasing and if you do youre homework you too can find good running car that will be problem free.
