New guy in east oregon

Hi everyone I just bought my first turbo RX a couple of days ago. It is a 87 with 99k miles on it. It runs but starts smoking shortly after startup, so I have to figure out what is going on with it. It is in decent shape I have to fix a dent in the drivers side fender and remove the wing that looks like an Integra type R. It has sat for a year or two, my buddy got it two months ago and didn't want to tear into it. The interior is all in it in very decent condtion. But well worth the $40 bucks I paid for it.

I have wanted a Turbo II for a long time mainly a S5 but this will do the trick. I still have to tow it to my house in a week or so then I guess I will be looking to you guys for answers.

It's normal to smoke after startup. The OMP (oil metering pump) injects oil at startup to help lubricate the rotors and then turns itself off after a minute or two. You should have blue smoke during startup.

If you are getting white smoke after it warms up, then you may have a water leak into the combustion chamber. If you have constant blue smoke (after warm up) then there may be an oil leak into the combustion chamber or from the turbo oil lines, or bad seals in the engine.

$40 bucks! That's a sweet deal even if the engine is toast.

What color is it?

I have straight fenders without any dents; $75 ea.

I'm not sure on smoke it has only ran for a couple of min. My friend is the one who started it, he said it seem to run smooth, but it kinda didn't want to idle. Once I get it home I will start it and see what it is really doing.

It is red and a little oxidized, but it will be painted when I'm done.

Thanks for the offer on the fenders, but it's not bad and if you seen what I have done to my Mazda B2200 truck, body and sheetmetal fab are cake for me.
