New Drag Racer Among Us?

Kari and I raced the CSP Miata at the Pro Solo this past weekend in Packwood. For those who don't know Pro Solo is two mirrored courses setup with a drag race start and two cars race against each other. Classes are handicapped and then there is a challenge where the fastest handicapped drivers go into a bracket racing challenge based upon the fastest times in their class and then there is a bonus challenge where driver's race to be the closest to their own times against each other. This was Kari's first time ever doing a drag race start and out of 14 runs all were under .541 with two red lights for a .498 and .496. They didn't have the 60ft. timer working but in all her matchups she always went into the first turn which was to about 45mph in front or equal to her opponent even against a SVT Cobra and a Z06. Not bad for a 99 Miata on street tires. I don't about you long time drag racers but consistent sub .541 lights are pretty good to me. We might have to get the new RX-7 off the track and out to the drag races a time or two once we get it next season but I don't know how good it will do with those 1000lb springs, stiff 335/35/17 tires, and about 1/2 inch shock travel hehe.
