need measurment help!

I need someone who has a 12a tranny from a 82 83 84 85 FB to measure from the front of the bellhousing to the MIDDLE of the shifter, from the front housing to the rear shaft and PLEASE post pics of the measurements.. I have my T2 tranny at the shop and was going to have it modified like blyfly(chris) with the repu did to his to make the shifter length work, but i think that the measurements are slightly different...

PLEASE HELP ME ASAP, i really need to get this done so i can get my car kinda togeather and out of my shop :\

now my T2 tranny is taken apart, is there someone who can help me with the measurments of that one? (save me from having to reassemble it!) I need to know how long it is from bellhousing to middle of the shifter hole! Thanks!!!!

looks like 31 5/8 in your picture from front of bell housing to shifter center

thats all u need really put that messurement on your t2 tranny then mark it on there then messure from the mark to the t2 shifter center what ever that is will probaly be the amount u will be cutting off..
