Need Help Hopefully this weekend

Hey guys
I need some help fixing this electrical problem with my car.
It wouldn't start this morning and I'm not sure what the problem is. I blew the main 80 Amp fuse this morning when I tried to start it. It turned over fine then just died. I have lights and all that jazz, except now the headlights won't pop up? I dunno if it's two seperate issues going wrong at once or if they are connected. Would like to get her running this weekend so let me know if you can help. I'll buy lunch and beers or whatnot for anyone that comes and helps. I'm in the Tacoma/Parkland/Midland area. Shoot me a PM or give me a call. Thanks

Erik

Your HEAD or Retractor fuse probably blew as well.

The 80A fuse protects your emissions and solenoid harness, so you probably have a loose wire shorting out around your turbo (if you've got a turbo) or your transmission bell-housing. Look behind your UIM and around your engine bay for any loose or frayed wires that could potentially come in contact with bare-metal. Also, if you have clipped any of your solenoid wires and perhaps just left them OR electrical taped a few of them together after they were clipped--you could be getting a short there.

Sweet thanks Erik.
I took a quick look tonight when I got home from work. I didn't see any bare wires or anythign of that sort. I'll take a closer look tomorrow, but if ther's no wires or anything could it be like bad battery cables or anything that? I'm not a car n00b- I just don't know squat about electrical systems sadly.
And no no clipped wires or anything, the engine is still completely stock.

I'll have to see what my work schedule is. What days were you looking to get some reinforcements??? If I do have to work i could swing by afterwards to see what i could do. I'm by no means the word on electronics but i've had my fair share of electrical issues in all. . . i mean all my vehicles. Truth be told i just dont think we get along really. Ill give you a call tomorrow at work to see what we can figure out and/or if you still need help.

Peace
Egan

Well, I'm not sure why but life loves making me a liar. . . My boss needs me to cover his shift both saturday and sunday so my weekend is now shot down to the pisser!!! But the perk side of that is I get some OT Woot Woot I might be able to help after my shift but I won't be able to get out of Bellevue until 6-7PM and then getting to you in puyallup. And since I have to drive back up to Marysville and then to Bellevue to open my store the next morning, the chances of me helping you and getting any form of sleep is unlikely. Sorry but duty calls and at least the thought was there right?

So spent all day Saturday and most of today tearing the bitch apart looking for anything that has been causing my issues. Found no wires that were bare and touching metal, grounding out somewhere. Retaped a **** ton of wires just to be afe. Tested the starter, it is fine, all wires and connections to start are great. All connections into alternator are fine along with the alternator itself. Put everything back together, and went to hook up the battery. Now instead of blowing my mian 80 amp fuse instantly, it jsut sparks and if you left it on the terminal it would weld itself there. Kinda happy the fuse didn't blow instantly, but now I don't know what the **** is going on. I'm so friggin frustrated right now I can't see straight. Any gurus out there that know what might be going on now?
