need a good rotary mechanic close to yakima
i need to know if anyone has taken their car to Autometrics in yakima. the mechanic owned a fd for years and claims he knows his ****. also i know all the bad hype about taking rotarys to dealerships but i talked to the rotary mechanic here and he seems to claim to know his **** also. of course every mechanic is going to tell you they are the best to get your money but i need to know who has had any past experience with either of these places, good or bad. i dont want my fd to go into bad hands and i definitely dont need a bunch of expensive parts thrown on that dont need to be. this i a project that i have had for a couple of years now due to a small engine fire and i finally got enought money saved up to get it on the road. so any replies will be very very usefull. if there is a better mechanic in the near area i would also like to know or if anyone in the area tri cities, yakima, i dont crare. that has had a lot of time under the hood of their fd im willing to pay top dollar for help. thanks guys

About 5 yrs ago I took my rx7 to the dealership after I screwed it up pretty bad. The guy there told me all kinds of crap about how he was a certified rotary mechanic and that was his specialty. After a week he told me he could not figure it out and then shortly after he was fired and they had the other mechanics look at it, only to tell me sorry you will have to take it to seattle. Then I took it to autometrics and $850.00 and 3 days later it was up and running with a 1 year guarantee. I have not had a problem with it yet and I tend to drive it hard. I also dont drive it everyday though, I park it in the winter and maybee cruse around every other weekend or after work in the summer. Today was a really warm day so I fired it up and drove it for the first time since october and ran the **** out of it. I have since called autometrics for a tune up and they said they would not work on it anymore. Why I dont know, maybee I didnt talk to the right person.
