Well personally with a 600-800k ionvestment you do not want to mess around. Take your time find that "perfect" house. I do not think that finding a house in that range with the wish list that you enclosed should be that hard.

I know what you mean about those "camaro" owners. It is not always a nice site when you are enjoying that cup of coffee on a sat morning. There is a difference between a white trash house owner and a home mechanic.

Quote: "Not sure how traffic is where your from but it only gets bad on I5 between Tacoma and a bit north of Seattle between 7am-9pm and 4:30pm-6pm, and I405 and its not even close to as bad as Southern California area. "

SAY WHAT????!!!!!! Traffic sucks EVERYWHERE around here and from my experience Microsoft is right in the middle of the worst of it. You ever been on 520 East between 3:00 and 6:00 in the evening? My advice..buy a place close enough to ride a bike to work.

After experiencing traffic in southern California traffic jams the worst times for traffic in Seattle dont seem like a traffic jam.

Man, what a stressful weekend of house-hunting! At least the weather was nice!

OK for those of you who are trying to be nice and help me out.... if you worked at Microsoft (the campus at 51st and 148th), would Issaquah be totally horrible to drive from? I'm still looking at lots of houses, but there is a ton of new construction in Sammamish and Issaquah that looks good and at the right price.. so that's why I'm asking.

I was thinking I'd go up to 202, west over to 520, south to the 51st st exit....

wishful thinking????

there is still contruction going in that route(in redmond), which should eventually make the commute easier.
202 can be really slow in the mornings,(mainly the section from ~187th & somtimes as far as sahalee to SR520) but just getting to redwest isn't bad after that.

traffic through sammamish isn't too bad since they widened 228th.

what neighborhood up here are you thinking about? I live in the pine lake area.

if you're thinking about being anywhere south of I-90, you may want to use a different route.

I'm thinking of something ideally around 5-7 miles from work max... that way rush hour won't hurt so much

Definitely a lot of nice stuff around Sammamish and Issaquah, but the commute starts getting a little bit long I think once you're down near the south end of Lake Sammamish.

Plus, the housing market seems pretty tight up there now, so finding a house is rough!

I work at 51st and 156th, try Redmond Ridge and Trilogly, straight commute, 5-10minutes to work.
