Looking for suggestions: Clutch job.

OK the clutch in my 91 turbo vert is going out. Where is a good place to get it replaced in the seattle area? and how much does it generally cost?

diy, not that bad, all you need is the flywheel resurfaced, pilot barring, throwout barring and clutch disc, maybe new pressure plate.

a shop might charge you XX hours @ $100.00+ hour on top of those parts so it will become a $1,000 job, or $500 diy

Tatakai told me intec was like $650

I really want to do it myself, Im pretty sure i have the ability to do it, its just I don't really have any place to do it right now.

I'm going to call/ mazdatech up by paine field. He's my prefered guy. I just had absoulutly no idea because when i did the clutch in my hardtop they did it with the engin rebuild, so it only cost the price of the clutch.

my kids wrx needs a clutch at 75K miles, and the best i can find is $500 to $600 labor... + subie parts are no where near as inexpensive as 7 stuff.... who the heck needs a $1200 clutch job...
Augie, if you want to run over to yakima, i got plenty of space and tools... you can camp out here til we're done, lol

Ut ohz, another CWR BBQ! When is this happening?

Surprisingly enough.... clutches are the only thing I have never had to change after installing an engine....... O.o Maybe because none of my engines have lasted long enough for a clutch to go out! Anyways, we can still do it no problem.

Yeah, it sux, i had a really nice garage at the place i was at, but there was no way i was staying for another year with my dumbass roomate, plus i was broke after the Dec 26 layoff with no notice! Now that i have a bit of cash to fix it, no place to work.

I really appreaciate the offers for help, i may just take someone up on it. Now off to the main FC board to ask about clutchs.
