Just thought I'd share some pics
Hey all, I just joined the SAE Formula team at Oregon State University, and we had a couple drive days last weekend. We drove out to the Dallesport airport. I just thought you guys might appreciate these pictures.
I can't post pictures of the '06 car because they're too big, so these are all pictures of our '08 car. That thing is freaking crazy! It's got the motor from a 600 ninja, and even with the restrictor, still gets about 60 hp, which isn't too bad for 300 lbs car. I think they said it pulls about 2.4 g's on the skidpad too.
These cars are designed by the seniors from their respective years, and built by the undergrads. We even design our own wheels and brake rotors, and have some of our sponsors make those.
I have some pictures of the '06 on my myspace. Here's the address: myspace.com/coxmith
WSU and PSU were there too, but those pictures are too big too. They're also on my myspace.

Nice, that was a fun weekend! You got some nice pictures of the cars.
For those wondering, the car was about even with the Z06 in the 1/8th mile.
Quick correction on the specs, it makes around 80hp, weighs 400lbs and does 1.4 lateral g's.

Definitely fun cars. I built one during junior and senior years and it was a fun and very educational experience. It's definitely a hard competition when you take it to the national event and have to do all of their tests and presentations.
one of my buddies goes to UW and is a sophomore. he is the driver this year and his forum name is e-dirty. the UW team is hosting and auto x the 26th of this month if any of you locals are interested
