Jerry's got my FD
I took my FD to Jerry at Jerry's little car shop yesterday. He was going to change fuel filter and fix an electrical problem he found before. The big job was to find out why I'm only getting 5 psi with the secondary.
He called today and said that after a couple hours of hunting, he found a couple of solenoids that were in the wrong spot in the rats nest. He wasn't able to test the car too well beyond 4000 rpm (wet roads and traffic) but he said that it already drives like an entirely different car. Before he had described it as "gutless". Now he said it has lots of power in the low rpm range. I'm excited because while I've always felt it was fun to drive, and plenty fast, I could sure use some more lower rpm acceleration for autocross.
Strange this is, the car had a tie wrap job done in 2006 by a shop called RP Performance in Manassas VA. They claim to be a rotary and race shop and should have known what they were doing. No idea what else may be screwy with this FD.

+2 to jerry, he's a great guy, rough around the edges at first but he DEFINETLY knows what he's doing with the magical spinning triangles. if u ever have a small prob, just call him and ask, he'll usually guide u step by step on the phone on what to do.

I took my FD to Jerry when I first brought it home. I was very happy with his work, and his brutal honesty. As I mentioned, he is now trying to continue to track down the problems that we had talked about the first time he worked on the car. I'm hoping to get it back before this weekend's event at BSCC to see how it drives.

Talked to Jerry tonight. I posted it in the 3rd Gen section, but essentially he hasn't found the problem with the secondary boost. Rather than continue to chase it, and spend lots of money, or just tear everything apart and spend even more money, we decided to go with what we got for now. I'll pick it up tomorrow morning, drive to Bellingham to visit my daughter and then run at the BSCC #2 on Sunday. We'll see how it goes.

Anyway, not too often I need 10 psi at 7000 rpm.
