How do I sell an automatic rx7?

It seems impossible. And don't ask, my uncle gave it to me and I was very disappointed when I found out it was an automatic. Why would Mazda even bother?

Anyway, here's my car:

Somebody.. please help me out.. I've been trying to sell it for months, I have a sign in the window (had, actually, it fell off and I forgot to put it back) and it's listed on Craigslist, Auto Trader, and Facebook (not that Facebook really does anything besides attract scammers). Anywho, any advice, besides dropping a manual transmission and then trying to sell it, would be greatly appreciated.

+1... There's no way you'll sell it for that price, even if it is a clean (basically) 1 owner car. Sad but true.

You're looking at $2500 tops, but I actually don't think you'd even get that.

Your best bet would be to swap the transmissions and *then* try to sell it for $2800... That is, if you actually want to sell it.

You could wait until late Spring and then maybe sell it for $3-$3.5k.

Or you could sell it for maybe $2500 and NOT advertise the fact that it's auto until the very end of the ad... Then just say that it is auto but that it's no big deal and a 5-speed swap is only $200 and a day of labor away.

Bahhh. That's ridiculous. Is it really only $200 to swap the transmission? **** I would have done that a long time ago if I knew that...

I've had a lot of people call me and this guy came and saw it and said it had too many door dings, which is a little odd considering it's 22 years old and that sort of thing should be expected, but then he confessed that he really wanted a Mustang instead. He was willing to pay $3500, but I guess that was in June...

Well... 200 bucks and crapload of work... i did mine a few years back.... i bought the car for 2200 in Socal about 8 years ago tho.... Anyway... you just need a tranny, pedal set, slave and master cyl, manual drive shaft... and few odds and ends... and to fab up a crossmember adapter... its a pita but well worth it... in the end, you will want to KEEP the car... yes.... yesss... keep the car... your getting very sleepy...
