hmm 20b or T2 swap

i picked up an 89 gtu for pretty cheap and its in really good condition as far as body goes, but its got an auto tranny and i want a 5spd... im pretty new to rotaries but ive been around them almost all my life and i was thinking why stop at just a transmission?

so my question is what do you guys think i should do, get a turbo engine and all that good stuff that goes with it or just go crazy and just get an NA 20b.

(I'm not a horsepower junkie or anything I just want something thats faster than a stock gtu)

The question is really how much money do you want to or can you afford to spend

Twin-turbo peripheral-port 4-rotor. Definitely.

NA 20Bs are usually more expensive than they're worth. You can make 300 HP out of a TII motor without too much difficulty, and still have room to grow.

and im not sure how much i want to spend but i know its not gonna be cheap for either project, i have been leaning towards the T2 swap but not ruling out a 20b

neither, fabbing a tranny mnt sucks. keep it na just do the 5 speed swap cause the mnt probably is not gonna be too strong. find a 5 speed car and then do a TII swap or 20b

iv done 5 speed swaps using the rotary reserrection way and it works but the mnt is not strong, it does work though. although you could actually weld mnt's to the body like stock, would need some creativity and precise measurements but it would be strong.

Your talking about having a FC because you don't have a lot of money and debating a 20b in the same thread..... I don't get it.

haha yes I do see the irony in that, but I just wanted to get some opinions. If I had that much money right now I wouldve gotten an FD instead, I'm simply thinking about future projects so if I actually do want a 20b (which I'll most likely stay away from) I'll know in advance and bust out a loan lol
