help.. white smoke that doesn't end

1988 rx7 n/a starts up fine and drives good. however, white smoke constantly pours from the exhaust. after i shut it off, a tiny amount of white smoke comes from the exhaust tip and it smells like fireworks.. lol. is it possible that something in the tip is burning? please help. want to get rid of this car.
