OR help needed! auto to manual

im buying a 90 fc auto. im wanting to convert it to manual. i have the tranny and everything but was wondering where and what i need for the rest of the change? where can i get em and about how much?

i used this when i did my 88, pretty straight forward.

need pedal assumbly/piviot bolt. manual drive shaft, manual starter, clutch,flywheel, pilot bearing.

that link contains all the information... the most tricky part is "custom making" the trany mount as the spots on the body are several inches different.

Kompressor is absolutely right! the damn tranny mounts are in a different spot. Can you say custom?

Kevins write up is pretty dead on.. i did mine in 2004.... the custom tranny x member is truly the trickiest part... and then... depending on if your tranny fails ever... you need to get the same spec tranny, or make a new bracket... for instance if you were to run a s4 tranny... because the mounting surfaces on the s5 and s4 are also different ( on the tranny itself where the x member bolts up.

so if my car is a S5 and the 5speed tranny im puttin in is a S5 and both are 90, couldnt i just use the same cross member that was on the original car with the 5speed?

yes AND unfortunately no. The auto tranny bolts up to the body about 8 inches north of where the 5 speed tranny would. Basically you need to fabricate an adapter in concert with stock x-member to bolt the 5 sp tranny to an auto body. Look at the last few photos to get a visual... its not hard.... just weird. LOL
