FD motors and ebaymotors...

So i am looking to get a FD motor from a seller off ebaymotors.. Mostly so i can get all the externals, wiring, ect. but with hopes that the engine will be a running engine and tranny...

I was wondering if there is anyone here that has gotten or knows someone who has gotten a engine from one of the ebay sellers and can vouge for them or at least give me a heads up on what ones "seem" to be the better more "rotary priortized" companys.

Ideas? Thoughts? Imput?

Or does anyone have a complete FD motor for around this price range (1200-1800.00) Marc??

up in Lynwood there are a few engine importers that have these in stock always, it is nice to see the motor in person and check it out for surprizes before laying down the cash. google engine import and lynwood and you'll find contact numbers

iirc, a S5 Tii motor is $11-1300, an S6 motor would probably be a few hundred more.

i bought my FD motor from ebay. It was a shop from New Jersey (can't remember the name of it). I paid $2500 for the engine/tranny combo. Motor ran strong and had 23k miles on it. only downfall to it was that it had a cut wire-harness. But my dad and i put it in ourselves.

hope my info helps.

i have been looking into that alot, but i am pretty sure that the motor is fucked. I asked him if i could have a compression and coolant pressure test done to it, and he refeses to let anyone other than "his shop" do a comp test and they only use thier basic engine compression testers on it. Not only that its been sitting outside in the weather exposed for over 5 years and i am pretty sure the internals are pitted to all hell and back.. However it still is tempting to get the RHD parts... But i am content with just having the RHD FC and i am plotting on a Canada trip this summer for a FD i have been talking with a guy about

I am currently strapping myself out for a while, getting a RHD Type-R Montego FD!! However i have learned that i cannot just drive up and bring it down, i have to have a registered importer bring it over for me... So i have to give a company i am talking to quite a bit as well... More discussions with them and it tomarrow :-\
However it will still be half as much all said and done then getting one here in the US, its kinda sad how cheap they are if you have the paitence and the stamina to deal with the BS of getting them over here, or its sad how much we sell them for here.... Either one
