no 1st gen all the way Maybe he was confused and switched the #'s 78 could be one of the first one's into the country. I think codeblue2 has the first one off the boat from japan if the scuttal butt is true.

Car was bought it 1978. When I went to put insurance on it. I argued with the insurance company as they said my car was a 1978 not a 79.

All I can tell looking at it is that it's a SA22, you can tell by the back end. My 79 had a similar add on between the taillights to update it to the look of the 81-85.

I like the wheels, other than the Ben Hur-style spinner on the rears.
Oh, and the listing shows 12,000? miles. SA22Cs have 5-digit odometers.
