I also got bitched at by a neighbor a while back about it being late and I was too loud. It being 8pm and only ran for 5 minutes I told her what I thought. Her kid has a old honda civic with no exhaust and the others behind me rev there civics even at 3 am. Some people just think they are above everyone. Did they ever come talk to you or just escalate it to the landlord? What did the cops say?

it doesnt matter about the damn cops. 25 years and older law says it can run open header and they cant give you a ticket. i need to get the rcw for that because mine is really loud....
and for your land lord..... i have never seen a rental agreement that says my vehicle could not be loud. good vent.

My neighbors werent too happy with me starting my open header (exhaust wasnt bolted up) s4 last year at around 10pm trying to get it up the driveway (wouldnt hold idle).
We ended up pushing it up the driveway lol. A neighbor across the street came up and talked to me the next day.
My speed3 has a test pipe and cut resonator. Its fairly loud but I try to keep the rpms low coming up the street. My previous protege5 had an RB exhaust, race header and high flow catted pipe. That was a loud car.
Im fairly certain my neighbors dont like me.

46.37.390 subsection 3 says if the car is over 25 years old, you can run anything you want as long as you have at least one functioning muffler. But the definition of "muffler" in 46.04.340 is so vague that even a turbo would count as a muffler. So open downpipe is A-OK.

yes, i read it wrong this time
This subsection (3) does not apply to vehicles twenty-five or more years old OR to passenger vehicles being operated off the highways in an organized racing or competitive event conducted by a recognized sanctioning body.
that OR was what i was looking for...............
printing it out for future use!!!!!!

Sub section 3 says "Off Highway", so with that said and you being in your "Driveway" the neighbors and cops can go F themselves. Snivley you should invite me over for some "exhaust tuning" drink some beers and watch your neighbors flip out lol. Although I think there is a noise ordnance law where sound emitted into the air can only be a certain amount of decibels. http://www.mrsc.org/mc/wac/WAC%20173...060%20-040.htm also see this for DBA http://www.sengpielaudio.com/TableOf...sureLevels.htm
Also more good info http://www.mrsc.org/mc/wac/WAC%20173...062%20-030.htm

You guys can come over and **** off my neighbors anytime.
Around here there's an unwritten rule, if you aren't doing it constantly or constantly late at night. It's fine.

Hmmm. I don't have this problem any more, but back when I had the single turbo rotary and wanted to take my GF out for our 2 or 3 yr anniversary I installed an Apexi active silencer and it worked perfectly.

Spring loaded so when you REALLY get it on it opens up completely, but when starting up or cruising around, its dead dead dead creepy quiet, even on the rotary.
