Did Williams OIL and Filter service screw me??

SO a member in here told me about williams Oil and filter service. They said they can refit some Oil lines to my connectors for around (27) ish dollars..
So i figure thats a good price. So i go down there to Williams Oil and filter service on Monday to drop off the lines.. I told the guy i Didnt want to spend much, And that a fellow rx7 memeber had it done for around 27 dollars.. So i wanted an estimate. he said i cant give you an Estimate till we get into the lines.

So i get back to Williams oil and filter on Friday to pick it up.. He came out with the Lines... They looked Great. A few fittings. And he claims he needed to weld on a new connector and so on and so on. He then said That will be $86.45.. I Told the **** that i didnt want to spend much. SURE the lines looked great and he spent some time on them.. But How can a member in here get that for 27 bucks?

I feel like Once agian i have been bent over and reamed by these people.

Never will i be going back

Sorry this happened to you. But. If you asked for an estimate you should have told them not to work on them till they called you.

**** happens

you pay for quality. You can't skimp out on that stuff. If you lose a oil cooler line your fucked. I blew one on the freeway and luckly caught it intime. I paid 375 for hydralic lines and labor. From a mechanic that does quality ******* work. And he stands by his ****. Won't break anytime soon.

But as I said. You pay for quality.

That doesn't sound too bad. It seems like the guy who paid 27 bucks either got a buddy discount or doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yeah the last time I went to the local Oil Filter Services, it was $8x.xx to have lines made with my cores.

It's wierd at Williams, I usually only talk to the old guy with glasses. I can't remember his name, but he's cool and doesn't charge bullshit pricing. The only other dood to deal with is kinda chubby and always wears shorts. I think he's got a ford or chevy tattoo (i know, big difference) on his calf he charges correctly too. There is another guy that's always hunched over, don't mess with him.

Sometimes they make good stuff... other times... yikes!

I do remember that one of the oil cooler lines they made me popped off the fitting and dumped all the oil on a 15 mile old old engine all over an intersection....

Sounds like a the price was pretty good to me.

There's several people that work there, before you leave you should make sure the your info gets written down with your parts. They do great work, but like many shops, the customer service may vary based on who you talk to.
