well this weekend i blew the motor in my turbo II again, only had the jdm motor in there for lil over a month. the motor was allways making a odd noise since i bought it, and i didnt thinkg it was anything. i think it spun a rotor,bearing and then an apex seal rolled out of the slot and blew it.

was racing a new wrx sti and after pulling on him twice, on the 3rd rematch it blew up at the top of 3rd. ran on 1 rotor on the way home and at low rpm a couple of times it made a weird squeeling noise and the belts are tight!, then above 6000 rpm it was making a knocking noise like a spun bearing....

i dont think the motor blew from detonation as i had adiquit fuel for running 12 psi, and it was a cold night so i dont think heat soak was an issue..... who knows guess ill see if i did spin a bearing when i take it apart....

to top it off my dad got side swiped in the rusty banana ($100 yellow 79') and it crushed in the fender bad , door and rear quarter panel a bit, and it blew out two of his tires. insurance will total that thing for sure. but hey on the bright side he makes money off it haha.... fixed the tires and drove it home, but insurance will probably want to take it, hes gonna try and get to keep it tho.

 

What a batch of ****, man that's gotta suck....... but it could have been worse, the cops could have caught you street racing and impounded your car, or you could be dead!

Don't A-1 engines have a 1yr warranty? IIRC they do. Sorry to hear about your engine hope that you can work something out. Any plans for the engine?

That sucks about your dads car too. Not sure what type of insurance you guys have but you should be able to buy the car back if they total it. They sell it back for an insane amount.

Ditto^ I bought a 3rd gen TT from AONE JDM engines in Auburn and had Atkins turn it into a NA (dont hate). They told me it came with a guarantee start up with 3 month warranty on rotories (conventional engines are 1 year) and Atkins told me straight up "it wouldn't have started. the rotor housings are too bad off"

i was about to buy the S4 TII from there (the one with the gay intercooler) but since it wasn't S5 I said screw it.

Sorry to hear about the 2nd engine. 12psi of fuel????? My NA runs 38psi with vac, 42 w/o, and 62psi from the pump-stock gslse pump

 

no running 12 psi of boost on stock turbo, i have 720 cc injectors also

my current project is to try and fix the pesky oil leak on my NA and i found it a good 3" section on the top of the front cover's gasket is pushed out or the hole, so oil slowly pours out hte top there and runs down the side!! then the fan blows it into the exhaust and it smoked ohh my!.... also fixing my coolent leaks.
