yes its true cause the TII drivetrain is stronger to handle under boosted conditions. There are some people that still can run without swapping the "whole" drivetrain, but the question is how long and where would you be when it does give out/break........

Do the right thing and swap it out the first time, im doing the same thing

It depends on how gentle you are. If you are super gentle, no hard launches, careful with wheelspin you probably won't break it.

The rear end and driveshaft are actually pretty solid, but the turbo transmission has a different output so swapping those too is productive if you have a 2nd gen where it just bolts in. If you have a 1st gen then it won't fit so nicely and keeping the stock transmission is often a better option.

You should post this in "rotary performance" instead of the regional section.

its not true at all. you can turbo a 6 port just fine. with low boost.

and no, you dont need a turbo drivetrain if you are turboing a 6 port.

if you get a turbo 4 port 13b then yes. you need the drivetrain.

excuse me, you need the drive shaft and rear end if you get a turbo tranny, not a 4 port 13b.
