Because he's a really nice guy and it would cost him an arm and a leg if he paid me to work on his car.

Well, got nothing but smoke all week trying to get John's car running again. Looks as thought the injectors are stuck open.

It is functional avant garde car art. Cool pics.

I once saw a honda running down the road blowing smoke rings. No ****...smoke rings, and they actually "rolled" down the road until they broke up. I wish I had a camera for it.

Regards,
Justin

We know its flooded, but we think the primary injectors fried and stuck. I am replacing them next weekend. Hopefully :p.

It lives!!!

Ok, well it's alive again and running well. It hits the dyno next week...wish me/it luck! Here are a couple pix of Brains and my fab work on the intercooler splitter between the rad and cooler. I cut a slot in my bumper (hood, bumper in the paint side) to allow the air for the fab'd up splitter to direct a specific amount of air to the cooler only. Made block offs and installed them around the rad lower and upper. The temps went from 190 to 170. Amazing. Track day is Aug 5th...we'll see if my home built/indestrucable lower splitter (black) is effective at getting more air in. It goes from the K member to about 4" in front of the lower bumper. And before I get any **** from anyone on my "race tape", it's about the go, not the show! Actually it is a very good media for the purpose...and or cheap!! Oh yeah..also the zip ties are to keep the thing tight w/out the bumper on it. I had to drive it home last night.

I'm using the same kind of stuff to keep air moving through my rad.

Works pretty well, even with a FMIC.

Put a few miles on the car, and purposely drove on a hot day - temps stayed in line, never exceeding ~210 on coolant or oil. This is with Evans coolant, which runs a little hotter.

Considering it was 95f outside, this wasn't bad. Idling in line at PIR at Baxter's a couple weeks ago, it kept it's cool, as well as on the parade lap. Last year on the parade lap it saw about 260f, hence the new motor.

There's now a Vented hood on the car, which should increase the airflow through the rad, as well as letting some heat out.

Sick work man, just sick work. I love what you've done with it. I'm looking to change up my Greedy FMIC to a v-mount set up as well. I just need to take the time and plan it out well. I hope to be using a lot of your ideas in my set up. Thanks for the write up.

Keep up the great work!!!
John

It will be tuned by Saturday afternoon, Rick got caught up tuning a 580hp sand rail car. Actually got stuck in the dunes Thursday night while transporting the car for some real world load tuning. He didn't get back until 8am today. I will pick it up tomorrow and change out your wheel bearings and install the new rotors this weekend. As far as paint your on your own.

See you when you get back.

He's still tuning, the map was way off in the vaccum region, reason for the car overheating. Looks like a Monday pickup, unless he works tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Joel didn't get the stuff from eddie's, so I can't do jack all.
