Thumbs up ATTENTION SEATTLITES: Concerning the 6/14 Parts Swap in Carnation

For those of you in the Seattle/surrounding area going to the parts swap in Carnation, let's meet up somewhere and cruise there together, huh? It'd be grand.

I'm still too new to the area to suggest a decent meeting point--so someone should help me out. =)

you're in Edmonds, no? That would probably leave the Alderwood Mall as a good location. Hop on 405 from there and head out... Me being on the north end I'll be goin a different, faster route thru Monroe

I'm hoping I can make it, it depends on family. I have a few things to sell possibly, and always am ready to buy. Plus, there are some questions on the FD that I've got.

I have to work in the afternoon but I'll try to make it there for a little bit in the beginning. It starts around noon, correct? I more than likely can only stay for an hour but an hour is better than nothing! I'll be coming from the Kent area.

I am from Yakima (central WA) and I am going to try to be up there if at all possible! I have tons of stuff I would like to sell. I will be taking out my NA engine out of another car, and installing it in another on monday. Then I will be NA-Ting that. Hopefully I can get it done by friday so I can come up.

Dudes, you misunderstood.

What I was saying is that the people heading to Carnation from the Seattle area should gather up before leaving at a central location and cruise together to the meet.

Silly heads.

well, let's decide on a time that works for all of us--or most of us, if not everyone can do the same time--and then a place that works for all of us.

personally, I'm available all day and am willing to go anywhere to meet. I'm easy.

hells yeah, rotary respect.

i love my meth injection.. it is my engine's savior. i spent a pretty penny on it, but i got it custom tailored for my car, so it's pretty nifty.. julio from alkycontrol.com put it together to me.. if you do the kind of thing i did, the system will run upwards of 700 bucks, but you can rest assured that it wont screw up like some of the cheaper systems.

he uses all stainless steel braided lines, rebuilds the pumps to make sure the innards aren't corroded by the alcohol, uses all brass fittings to for corrosion purposes as well, and to top it off he's an electrical engineer so the progressive alcohol controller he uses is very well-built and efficient

my set up is a 4 gallon cell with a gravity feed to the pump which is in the spare tire well, and then there's like 10 feet of line that heads up the same path as the fuel lines to 2 10 GPH nozzles that are shot into the intercooler piping just before the throttle body inlet

right now i'm running about 1 bar of boost with about a 75% pump gas/25% methanol mixture and the car is running like a dream. =)

hm thats very interesting. I've heard many good things about meth injection. how long have you had it? whats ur meth mixture made of exactly? do you get from a local truck stop I've heard of around here? Do you find it burns cleaner?

If you don't mind, i would like to see it later this week. My bad for all the newb questions.

it is Mark by the way.

feel free to come take a look, my schedule is pretty flexible at this point since I dont have a job yet.

I've had the system for about 8 months, but the car has only been running for about 2. my meth mixture is straight methanol.. that's the beauty of Julio's systems, he builds them to be able to handle straight methanol without any worries. a little alcohol lube wouldn't hurt, but it isn't a necessity. I haven't had to re-up on it yet, so I don't know where to get it around here... but I could find out for you no problem. the system's turn-on point is 7.5 psi, so I don't really see any of the cleaning benefits of the methanol when I'm driving around normally--however, during hard pulls you can definitely smell the alcohol in the exhaust.

newb questions are all good! before Brian (BDC Motorsports) got me into it, I had no freaking idea what any of it was even about.. it's still a relatively new thing to the '7 community.
