I was looking through their FAQs and they mention core charges for their rebuilds among other things. I hope they still do em because it would save a lot of hassle having a local shop do the rebuild.

Best to do it yourself, its not that hard to do. If you can't do that, I would go to Rob at Pineapple also.

I like rob and he's a great guy, but he has never seemed to hire the best help. I've heard way more horror stories from Pineapple builds than atkins builds. I've personally owned 2 pineapple stamped engines that made me throwup in my mouth after cracking them open.

Check good guy bad guy section. I visited Dan and Dave while i was in Sumner, seemed like great guys to me. Dave spent a lot of time visiting. The shop was clean and organized which speaks volumes for me (even more so if it was a restaurant, lol)

I'll put it this way. I got a FD engine built by Pineapple from my friend after they built him 2 engines that both failed in less than 20k. When it tore it apart the trailing edges on the "streetport " exhausts had no bevel, and the trailing edge was not level at all. One was so bad it tapered at least 7mm down from left to right. Also the current engine in my car was built by Pineapple. It's pretty stout, but when i took my header off and looked at the exhaust port it was shaped like a 'B' instead of like a 'D'.

I do the rebuilds and porting for whoever in my town. i can do full rebuilds or just porting you can drive over here and do it all in a day and i will warranty the motor i build. but they have to be done with my preference of seals. or you can send me your housings and irons and i will port them call for more info. 509-217-7867
here is a pic of a housing i just did the other day on a 93 rx7.
