anyone in oregon got a metal lathe?
i need to machine down a piece of aluminum round stock for a piece on my bike, does anyone have a lathe i could come use? prefferable in the corvallis area but my dad lives up in portland so im ok making a trip north if i have to

As far as finding a lathe, I would check out the local high schools, or machinists club.

tried my local highschool, and for insurance reasons its not possible, i gota check with the college and see if maybe that will be any different, seeings how im a registerd student, just not for that class

i still have to check with LB, what would you charge me to do it adam? just need half inch round stock machined down to slightly under 2/5 and at one end left 1/2, (maybe take a small amount off) and have that little piece be like 1/5 of an inch long or so (doesnt need to be exact) to hold the rubber boot on. the hole piece is like 2 inches long or so

I don't know maybe 20 bucks, seem's pretty basic. PM for details, I need a rough drawing of dimensions and the bar stock. I can get it done in the morning at work, so you will need to drop it off the day before at Apex and you can pick it the following evening or whenever you can come back. FYI, most of next week I'm busy working on a custom seat mount for an E36. So sooner the better.

eh, if i cant find someone to just let me use thier lathe, ill probably just pay a local guy to do it, he said he can get it done for 10 or lower, oldschool engine rebuild/machine guy thats been in town longer then ive been alive, i think at this point hes just bored and wants something to do, lol.
