to all who were and weren't at tech day

Well, I did make it home kettleman, thanks for all the help and for the extra plugs (fortunately I did not need them car made it home then died again). Getting my carb setup was quite a pain in the ***. It has an exhaust leak from that third horizontal port at the bottom which I will be figuring out tomorrow after school (sounds like a bridgeport now... that is when it will start or stay running!). It has dead spots all over and timing is WAY off it was missing way bad on my trip home. I think high temp rtv will become one of my best friends for fixing the exhaust leak. Allan also discovered that I have a bad fan clutch so I will most likely be doing an e-fan install shortly. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.
Allan, a special thanks for all your help and all to all those that SHOWED up! It was a good time even though I ended up with my car running worse than before?!
Oh yeah, everyone missed out on some killer RC car driving and good burgers (well IMO anyways!).

Ah, you made it home, excellent. I was starting to worry when we were down the road and could get her started. But yeah, some fine tuning and you'll be happy you took out that stock carb. To those that missed it, you're missing out on some really good burgers, kettlman knows how to cook 'em.

BTW, Kouta, I forgot to say bye to you and thanks for your radio help and trying to get that fender dent out of my car.

good, that you made it. gotta fix the leak and it will all come together. that leak is probably the cause for the missings. lets see how it folds and how those jets hold up. those jets! ha ha ha. we were trying to put some solder in the jets so we can drill them smaller. was heating them up on the ground... and BAM the fricken ground exploded! shrapnel of concrete flew up in the air and nailed us both. it was a sight to see. wish we had video of it.

Yeah, that was pretty cool, freaky but cool. You should at least snap a shot of the chunk of concrete that jet took out, damn that was wierd. I guess I will see tomoorow when I fix that leak if my problems are solved, if not then I will buy some "real" jets (probably a good assortment, but i am thinking of trying out some low 50s possibly some high 40s jets) and I will also set my timing.
I got some things to pick up tomorrow, jets, 13/16 socket and 3/8" ratchet, spark plug cleaner or wire brush, timing light, 10mm wrench, carb hat mount post screw, probably some other things also (oh yeah, red and yellow touch up paint to remark my timing points to make them more visible).
Regarldess of those issues though I still had a blast, and a very interesting ride home, the damn thing really does sound like a bridge-port.

well, I got my exhaust leak fixed. It was leaking becasue I forgot to apply some gasket maker around that funky rectangular exhaust port right above the header. I still have MAJOR dead spots, so bad in fact that it is not driveable, it idles fine but that is about it. So I need to up the jet size. I will probably go with a 60 seeing as the 62s it had in it before were too much, and the 57s I used yesterday were not enough. Any pointers kettleman? The reason I know it was running way to lean was because it was backfiring the entire way back from my friends house a couple blocks from my place.

Hehe, no problem. I swear if I wasn't so tired when I tried it and didn't have as greasy of fingers I could have got it, its almost the same dent as the fb had. Oh well and good luck on the rest of the install. I know it can be a bitch, but once its wired its pretty nice... until ya blow a speaker lol

I managed to get it in and working perfectly today, actually. I somehow managed to wire the power antenna control incorrectly but everything else works like a charm. Turns out Best Buy had the correct wiring harness so after a few hours of soldering, making a really long grounding wire, and some swearing, the radio's in and working. Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

Hey,

I had a blast on Sunday great times...unfortunatley I did not get my TPS set this time either. That is ok...it seems to be like many girls tempermental and only spouts off every once and a while.

Anyways Kettleman lets see some of those pics/vids of the RC cars. Those jumps were pretty huge. Next time when we have some more materials and maybe a little alcohol we can run them with bigger launches.
