I'm in Anchorage,
I have a S5 GTU - TII swap with a blown engine, currently saving up for a rebuild.
I have engine out of the car, but I stiil need to disassemble and clean everything to see what i'm dealing with.

I think there are 8 or 9 FD's statewide.
There's still a few 1st and 2nd gens around.
..I've probly owned most of the 2nd gens in Anchorage at some point,

Hey, how's it goin Manny,
Do you have your FC running again?
Havn't talked in a while since rotary redline shut down.

Cool! I'm glad I'm not the only Rotary lover in AK, haha. when you're car's running do you hibernate it in the winter? cause I can't imagine driving my FD up here, and I don't want to get all that salt and grim on it.

Are you gunna do the rebuild yourself? if so when do you think you'll get around to it... ball park, cause no one ever has set days of when it comes to money

Yeah the 7 stays in the garage all winter
I have seasonal tags, so no Emissions Testing,
but I can't drive it between Nov 1st and march 31st.

I'm not really sure on a timeline for the rebuild, but I will be doing it myself.
The main thing holding me up right now is removing the flywheel,
I need to borrow a puller or something..

If my internals are bad I might just order another Jspec and drop that in with my hybrid turbo and stuff on it.

Hopeing to have it running by april 1st for opening day.

Seasonal Tags?!?! That's awesome! I'll have to keep that in mind for when I bring my FD up here, cause I know it's not gunna pass emissions, since it has no cats. I've heard a lot of bad things about Jspec engines... but I don't really know, I want to get one eventually so I can see for myself. I kinda want to get some BNR Turbo's when I get back... we'll see. but if you need a hand with anything hit me up.

I had decent luck with my last Jspec,
it lasted a couple of years of running on a crappy tune.
just be sure to buy from a reputable seller that does a compression test.
like Japan2LA on the forum here.

Some people would recommend rebuilding the jspec before installing.
but I dunno..

Yeah I might need some help eventually,
I need to get organized first.
the garage is a mess right now.
I just parted out an 84 supra, and I still have a bunch of parts stacked up everywhere, & no room on the workbench.

Hey Greg, how's it goin!,
Still have the Blue FB?
that thing was sweet..

How about posting a current pic or two?
and It'd be cool to hear about any new mods you've done since you moved.
I seem to recall you had some plans in the works, but can't remember what.

whats up man? things are going pretty good. as for the car... we are on Old_Skool v2.0. the blue one had rusted through where the rear end dog bones connected, so i got an 82 body and transplanted the engine, drivetrain, rear end, doors, dash, fuel tank, lights, 1 fender, bumpers, and front air dam onto it. got drunk and re-did the intterior, RB suspention, and topped the engine with a camden 7" blower. she is just about ready to go. all paint was done by Codeblue.

from inside the car, where the dog bone attaches

outside of same

other side

the new shell

works in progress

what's left (don't let Nick see this one!)

the heart

and a peek at the new color. painted by by Codeblue. once spring hits, i have to buff it out (no, it is not buffed in these pics, just cut). the suspention has settled since, so its about an inch lower, and has all 4 black wheels, and bumpers installed.

interior in work

and the rest of the "family"

Looks good!, I like the color.. and the supercharger.
must've been a lot of work switching everything over to the other body..

Here's where i'm at with my car,.. Not good.
that's my 7 under there, in case you couldn't see it.
These supra parts have got to go.

You remember Marc from the forum?,
We rebuilt the engine in his red TII, then he sold it because he was moving to Vegas..
-The new owner didn't run premix like he told him to, and blew the motor.

Potassemon-
You have any pics of your FD?

in time. your car will be a beast with that nice snail hanging off the side! my project took just about 2 years start to finish. i got it running good, drove around the block, and put her away for the winter right before i deployed. only a little over a month until i pull her out and finally get to enjoy her! i had alot of good help though. there were a few times i really wanted to say **** it and see it burn. lol. only had 2 small fires on it though! how's the weather been there lately? we haven't had any snow, and its been hitting almost 50 daily here. i have 78 days of leave, so i need to burn some, and where better than a few days in Alaska?

But there's only about a foot and a half on the ground here.

not exactly sure when. maybe shortly after breakup, when it's starting to get nice out. i may have to take you up on that offer, and i'm always down for turning wrenches! one stipulation though, i can't spend time in Wasilla (ex lives there, and i'm still slightly bitter about what she did). other than that, i'm game for whatever. lol. i'll let you know when i start to finalize plans.

Um so what about Jspec, do any of the motors run good, I might regret buying my s5 TII.

It would be cool to have a meet this summer, although it might be lame if theres only 3 people there.

Yep, I know a few people that havn't posted here yet.
we could probably get a several 7's together for a meet.
just might have to help some of them fix their cars first.

What color is your S5 TII?,
I've only ever seen two S5 TII's in AK,
have any pics?

You won't regret buyng it, if you can get it running right.
Describe in detail what's wrong with it, .
maybe I can help.
