89 TII Restoration Shop?

Hi Guys,

I have a 1989 TII, and want to restore this car since I have some budget.
Do you have any recommendation for this project?

I need some significant work has to be done to this car like engine rebuilt, new turbo, removing all interior craps, getting full body kit and bucket seats, and so on.

I am also wondering how much this will cost. Any comment appreciated.

I have done major and minor restorations and modifications to various cars, mostly Mazdas, in the past 30+ years, and I have always done it as a hobby, never for a living. I have had a lot of help with some of my projects, but at one time or another I have personally built engines and modded them, done suspension mods, custom body work , paint, upholstery and wiring. I have also done restoration work on airplanes, boats and motorcycles. I have sold some of my projects over the years for more than I had invested in cash, but I never got much for all the time I spent.

If you take the time to look around a bit, you may find a car with most of the things you want already done for less money than you will ever get it done for you by qualified, competent people. Before launching into this project, you should make a detailed list of what you want, get some good price estimates and make sure you aren't going to spend $10,000 to build a car that you could buy for $5-6,000.

You're right. I need to take some time to investigate the car in details and make a list first.
Thanks for the input, stilettoman.

ps. I looked at your projects in the link. It was cool!
